ORDINANCE No. 482
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF -THE CITY OF AZUSA,
COUNTY OF IAS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
SECTION 5.4 OF ARTICLE V OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 409 OF
THE CITY OF AZUSA, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING
A ZONING AND DISTRIBUTING PLAN WITHIN THE CITY OF AZUSA,
CREATING THIRTEEN USE ZONES, REGULATING THE USE OF
PROPERTY, HEIGHT AND AREA OF STRUCTURES AND OPEN SPACES
FOR LIGHT, AIR AND, VENTILATION; ADOPTING A MAP OF SAID
ZONES; DEFINING TERMS USED; PROVIDING FOR THE ADJUSTMENT,
ENFORCEMENT, AND AMENDMENT T,EREOF; PRESCRIBING
PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT THEREWITH" AS SAID ORDINANCE IS ATTENDED.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. Proceedings having been held in accordance
with Article 20 of Ordinance No. 409 of the City of Azusa, as
amended, for amending Section 5.4 of Article V of said Ordinance
No. 409 and the Planning Commission of the City of Azusa having
had hearings thereon on the 16th day of L4arch, 1955, and the 30th
day of March, 1955, and said Planning Commission having there-
after filed its Report and Recommendation to the City Council
and recommended that said Section 5.4 of Article V of said
Ordinance Number 409 be amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 5.4. Building Site Area. Every dwelling
hereafter erected or structurally altered shall have a
lot area of not less than six thousand (6,000) square
feet per separate single family dwelling; provided,
however, that each building site shall have a frontage
upon a public dedicated street of not less than sixty
(60) feet, except that for lots fronting upon a

I curvilinear street the minimum width shall be sixty
2 (60) feet at the rear boundary of the required front
3 Yard with a frontage upon a public dedicated street
4 of not less than thirty—five (35) feet; provided,
5 however, that the provisions of this section shall
6 not apply when the lot was of record at the time of
7 the passing of this Ordinance, and any such lot of
8 record at the time of the passing of this Ordinance
9 may be used as a building site,"

11 and thereafter hearing having been held before the City Council of
12 the City of Azusa on April 18, 1955 at the hour of 7;30 P. M., all
13 of said hearings before the Planning Commission of the City of
14 Azusa and the City Council of the City of Azusa having been held
15 after notice duly given as required by said Zoning Ordinance Numbe
16 1
409, as amended, and as directed by the City Council.
17 SECTION 2. Ordinance Number 409, as amended, is hereby
18 further amended by amending Section 5.4 of Article V of said
19 Ordinance to read as follows;

when the lot was of record at the time of the
passing of this Ordinance, and any such lot of record
at the time of the passing of this Ordinance may be
used as a building site."
SECTION 3. All other ordinances and parts of ordinances
insofar only as the same conflict herewith, are hereby amended in
accordance herewith.
SECTION 4. The Mayor shall sign this ordinance and the
City Clerk shall attest the same and certify as to the passage
hereof and cause the same to be published once in the Azusa Herald
& Pomotropic, a newspaper of general circulation, published and
circulated in the City of Azusa. This ordinance shall be
effective thirty (30) days after the passage hereof.

I, James Miller City Clerk of the City of Azusa, Los
Angeles County, California, do hereby certify that the fore—
going ordinance was duly introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Azusa on the 18th day of
April 1955 and and was duly and regularly passed and
adopted by the City Council, signed and approved by the
Mayor, attested by the City Clerk, at a regular meeting held
on the 2nd day of May , 195; that the same was
passed and adopted.by the following vote of the Council:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Fawcett, Ortuno, Romero, Memmesheimer
NOES: COUNCILMEN: Johnson
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None
I do further certify that I caused said Ordinance to be
published prior to the expiration of fifteen days from the
passage thereof in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper
of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in
the City of Azusa, on the ]21-h day of Mn1 r , 195
and that the same was published in accordance with law.
