HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 499S.. f • 1 ORDINANCE NO .499 2 AN ORDIN4NCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN 3 UNINHABITED TERRITORY, DESIGNATED "SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 7", TO THE CITY OF AZUSA 4 5 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA: 6 WHEREAS, on the 5th day of December, 1955, the Council of 7 the City of Azusa did pass and adopt Resolution No. 3336, giving 8 notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to 9 the City of Azusa, said territory being therein designated as 10 "Southern Annexation District No. 7", said Resolution describing 11 the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed; and 12 WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 3336, did contain a notice of 13 the day, hour and place when and where the Council of the City 14 would hear ,protests made by any person owning real property with - 15 16 in the territory proposed to be annexed, the time of said hearing 17 being not less than fifteen nor more than fifty days from the 18 date of passage of said Resolution; and. 19 WHEREAS, on the 16th day of January, 1956, at the hour of 20 8:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City 21 of Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of California, said time 22 and place being'the time and place fixed in said Resolution 23 No. 3336 for hearing protests to the said annexation, the said 24 City Council did hear and pass upon all protests made to the 25 proposed annexation and did determine that protests had not been 26 made by the owners of one-half of the value of the territory 27 proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment 28 roll, nor by public and private owners of one-half of the value 29 of the territory proposed to be annexed as determined by said 30 legislative body; and 31 WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa, 32 and is uninhabited territory In the County of Los Angeles; 1 1 NOW, THEREFORE, the said Council of the City of Azusa, does 2 hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter des - 3 cribed to the City of Azusa, and does hereby further ordain that 4 the said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Azusa. 5 That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of 6 Azusa is'�he"In approved, is all that territory situate in the 7 County of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly 8 described as followsi an angles point is the boundary of the City oS Asu0a Beginning at . as sane existed on tidy I, 1955, said angle point being at the Host westerly southwesterly corner of Tract no. 19809 as shown on map ro- corded in Book 520, pages 34 to 40 inclusive, of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of the County of Las Angelos;
