HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 511ORDINANCE.NO. 511 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL AZUSA AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 442 ADOPTED ON THE 3rd DAY OF MARCH, OF THE PASSED 1952. CITY OF AND The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 2.6 of Ordinance No. 442, passed and adopted on the 3rd day of March, 1952, is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 2.6. If a consumer who has initially established his credit, as in this ordinance provided, later fails to pay his water bill to said City and the same become delinquent, a cash deposit as provided in Section 2.2 hereof will be demanded in addition to payment of all delinquent bills. If he fails to pay said delinquent bills and make said cash deposit within fifteen days after written notice by mail so to do, his water service shall be discontinued. If water service is discon- tinued, said service may again be established only in the event the consumer or applicant for service at said place pays all delinquent bills and makes said cash deposit and pays in addition thereto the sum of $1.00. Thereupon, and not other- wise, will service again be made." SECTION 2. Section 2.18 of said Ordinance No. 442 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 2.18. All water bills are due and payable at the office of the Water Department in the City Hall of the City of Azusa upon date of presentation and shall be delinquent thirty days.thereafter. Whenever the amount of any billing of the City of Azusa for water service rendered by it, is not an exact multiple of Five cents, such billing shall be reduced or increased to the nearest multiple. of Five cents as the case may be. Bills will have printed thereon a notice that if the amount is not paid within thirty days after date of presentation, service may be discontinued as provided by this ordinance. If.the bill is not paid during said thirty day -period, the Water Department shall cause notice of said delinquency to be given by mail, and if the bill is not paid within fifteen days thereafter, service shall be discontinued. If the consumer has a deposit placed with the City, the amount of the bill may be deducted therefrom and the consumer required to restore the deposit before service is resumed." SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall publish the same as required by law.. Passed and approved this -1- 2nd day -of July , 1956.
