The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Mace, Williams, Muehe, Meier, City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman: Johnson. The minute of the last regular meeting of September 2nd and September 4, 19:0 were read and approved as read. ' The City Clerk announced that she had received two (2) bids in answer to the Notice calling for bids on a new regulator for the Light and Power Department, published in the Azusa Herald. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Williams that the bids be now opened, examined and publicly de- clared. GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY City Clerk announced that she had received two bids for the generator. Total net price f.o.b. our Pittsfield, Mass. facotry, but including freight trasnportation to Azusa, California - - - - - - - - - - $4099.00 ' WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC & MFG. CO. Price f.o.b. Azusa, California, as called for - - -, - - - - - - - - - - - - $4099.00 Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by ' Councilman Mace that the bids be referred to the Superintendent of Light and Power to report -back at the next regular meeting. Carried by the following_ vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Williams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: Johnson. The City Clerk presented the monthly report of the Los Angeles County Health Department. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Mace that same be placed on file. A communication from the League of California Municipalities was read. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Williams that the City Clerk be instructed to 7 --rite the League to the effect that the City has never been called upon the expend any money in hand- ling rate proceedings and other matters before the Railroad Commission. A communication from the Learue of California Municipalities concerning State legislation. Moved by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Mace that same be re- ferred to the City Attorney. A communication from the Railroad Com- mission addressed to the City Attorney relative to the Vernon Avenue crossing was read and ordered placed on file. Report of the L. A. County Health Dept. ordered placed on file. City Clerk instructed to write League of Calif. Municipalities Communication refer- red to City Attorney. FOR THE TRANSFER OF FTVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ADOPTED. FROM THE ELECTRIC LIGHT FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND. be read. This resolution was then read. Councilman Williams moved that an Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE"OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF'AZUSA PRESCRIBING THE AD- ORDINANCE READ FOR THE DITIONAL DUTIES OF POLICEMEN AND FIRST TIME. FIREMAN. be placed on its -first reading. This ordinance was then read for the first time. Councilman Williams offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION'OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA WITH REFERENCE TO THE COL- ' LECTION OF PENALTIES ON DELINQUENT PROPERTY TAXES. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Mace that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1234. RESOLUTION NO. 1234 Carried by the following vote of the ADOPTED. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Mace that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1235. Moved by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Mace -that same be referred to the Council as a Committee of the Whole. The Cit* Clerk presented the annual report of the ity's accounts made by the Auditors Thomas & Moore. Moved and carried that same be placed on file. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Williams that the matter of C. H. Howard building a metal building in the fire zone. be reffered to the Board of Public '^forks to report back at the next meeting. Councilman Williams offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA APPROVING AND ADOPTING A BUDGET ESTIMATE OF APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE YEAR 1930-1931. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Williams that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1236.
