Councilman Johnson offered a resolution

the City of Azusa would cooperate
with the County in endeavoring to
cope with this situation.

WHEREAS, W. R. Powell, our fellow townsman,
friend and associate, has passed from our midst to that
undiscovered country from igrhose bourn no traveler returns;
and
'PUEREAS, the late '.'+. R. Powell spent many
years of Isis unselfish, active and fruitful life in our
midst and in the San Gabriel Valley: and
7flTFRF]AS9 the deceased, during his years here,
gave abundantly of his time, effort, money and love,
devoting all to the upbu.ilding of our community and to
much of the San Gabriel Valley: and
1*1HEREAS, the fruits of his kiork and efforts
are notably apparent tbrouthout San Gabriel Valley and
will endure and long stand as a monument to his exalted
life and character; and
WHEREAS, the passing of our friend 'N. R.
Powell is keenly felt in this community as a distinct
loss and regret:
NOY%f THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the members
of the City Council of the City of Azusa, California, at
' a regular session assembled this 15th day of December,
A. D., 1930, that vie express herewith our heartfelt sympathy
and the heartfelt sympathy of this community to the members
of the bereaved family in the loss of a good father,
faithfiil husband, staunch friend and useful. citizen; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOL's'ED, that this Resolution
be spread upon our minutes and a copy thereof sent to the
family of the deceased.

Clerk be instructed to notify Mr.
John R. Pinkstaff, in writing, that the Janitors office
