Present at roll call: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, '"il.liams, Muehe, Pleier, City Clerk. Absent: City Attorney. The minutes of the last regular meeting of December 15, 1930 were read and approved as read. An invitation from the Imperial Valley Fire Departments was read and ordered placed on file. i A letter from the Lns Anreles Chamber 'of Commerce inviting the members of the !City Council to be present at a meeting, to be held for the purpose of discussing possible regulations of orchard heating so as to eleminate smoke nuisance, Iwas read. A motion was made and carried that as many members as could do so should attend this meeting. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Johnson that the renewal of the Liability Policy for the Light and Water Department be referred to the Audit and Finance Committee, with power to act. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Williams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None. 38 Communication filed. Communication filed. A card from the W. R. Powell family acknowledging the Council's expression of sympathy was read and ordered placed on file. Councilman Mace offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF A71JSA EMPLOYING L. F. WRAY JANITW3 OF THE MUNICIPAL BUILDINGS OF THE CITY CF A7USA. Moved by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Muehe that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1249. Carried by the following vote of the Councbl: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Williams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None. The City Clerk presented two petitions; one containing fourteen signatures for the improvement of San Gabriel Avenue and one containing seventy-three signatures protesting the improvemnr.t. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Johnson that the petitions be placed on file. Councilman ",illiams offered a resolution entitled: Communication filed. Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Mace that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1250. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilman: Mace, Johnson, Williams, Vuehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman Muehe offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION 07 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMSA ABANDONING PPOCI-:EDINGS FOR .THE TMPROVEI.4ENT OF A7USA. "VENUE BEWEEN TENTH AND ELEVENTH STREETS VJITIT INSTALLA- TION OF ORNAMENTAL LT-IHTING SYSTEM. Moved by Councilman I,1ace, seconded by Councilman Johnson that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 12511. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Williams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Abs-nt: None: Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Williams that the City Clerk be instructed to advertise for sale a team of mules, owned by the Street Department of the City of Azusa. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilman Mace, Johnson, 17illiams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Johnson, sec-nded by Councilman Mace that the following bills be allowed and warrants ordered RESOLUTION NO. 1250 ADOPTED. RESOLUTION NO. 1251. ADOPTED City Clerk instructed to advertise muleg.for sale drawn upon the treasury for the same. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Williams, Muehe, bleier.
