The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular adjourned session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Williams, Muehe, Meier, City Clerk. Absent: City Attorney. The Clerk announced that she had received one bid for the City's ' legal ;Tinting for the ,year 1931. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Johnson that the bid be opened, examined and publicly declared: AZUSA HERALD For publishing Legal Printing, and Advertising for the year 1931, 90 cents per Column Inch, (5 Point Type, 11 Isms. 9 lines to the inch) for the first insertion, and 00 Cents per Column Inch for each sub- sequent insertion of the same notice. Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Noce, and duly carried that the bid of the Azusa Herald Publishing Company be referred to the Audit & Finance Committee, with power to act. 4®3 Printing Bid referred to Audit & Finance Committee with poorer to act. The Clerk called the attention of the City Council to the fact that Resolution of Intention No. 1254 in the matter of proposed improvement of Azusa Avenue by the installation of Electric Light Otandards in the City of Azusa had been regularly published and that the Notices required by law have been given and that this hour, 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chamber of the City Council in the City IIall of the City of Azusa was the time and place set for hearing objections. The Mayor then inquired if any Tritten objections had been filed with the Clerk. She reported that written protests had been filed by: H. W. Jefferies et,al. being 36 signatures in all. The Mayor then asked if anyone desired to be heard on the said protests and the City Council -as addressed by Elbert Griffith in sun^ort of the said protests. The MgT or then inquired if anyone else desired to be heard with reference to the said protests and no one responded. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Williams that all proceedings contemplated by Resolution of Intention No. 1254 adopted by this City Council on January 19, 1931, be and the same are hereby abandoned, which motion was carried by the follow- ing vote to wit: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Williams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Williams that the City Engineer be instructed to prepare plans and specifications for the improvement of Angeleno Avenue between Fourth and Fifth Streets in the City of Azusa. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayea: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Williams, Muehe, Meier. Proceedings under Resolution of Intention Pio. 1254 abandoned.
