Present at roll call: Councilmen: Ilace, Johnson, Tcuehe, Meier and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman Williams and City Attorney. The minutes of the last regular meeting of April 20, 1931 were read and approved as read. Councilman Williams entered the meeting during the reading of the minutes, and took his seat. 439 A request presented by the protestant Churches, to use the Auditorium the last S»nda.y evening in May and every Request granted Sunday evening throughout the summer Protestant Churches beginning July 1, 1931, was read. to use Auditorium beg - Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded ginning July 1, 1931. by Councilman Johnson that same be granted. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Council- men: Mace, Johnson, Williams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None. An application by Ira Calvert, for Assistant at the Slouson Memorial Application referred to Plunge was read. ?coved by Council- Councilman Johnson with man Icace, seconded by Councilman power to act. Williams that same be referred to Councilman Johnson with power to act. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Council -men: Mace, Johnson, ','lilliams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None. A similiar application made by Albert Rury was read. Moved by Councilman Anplication referred to Mace, seconded by Councilman 17illiams, Councilman Johnson with that same be referred to Councilman power to act. Johnson, with power to act. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, 71illiams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None. A communication from the California Real Estate Association requesting Communication ordered the City Council to place an ad in placed on file. the California Real Estate Magazine was read. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Williams that same be nlaced on file. A communication signed by Emery E. Olson, Director of University of Communication ordered Southern California School of placed on file. Citizenship and 'ublic Administration, inviting the Council to attend the luncheon on June 13, 1931, was read and ordered placed on file. A communication from the National Communication ordered Audit & Appraisal Company was read placed on file. and ordered placed on file. An invitation to attend the Pre -Olympic ' Pageant and 14ater Sports at Ilermosa Beach—was read. Moved by Councilmah Invitation to be acknow- Muehe, seconded by Councilman Mace ledged and placed on file, and duly carried that same be acknowledged and placed on file. A communication from the California Real Estate Association requesting Communication ordered the City Council to place an ad in placed on file. the California Real Estate Magazine was read. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Williams that same be nlaced on file. 203AIV 9 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR TAFFTING HELD May 5, 1931 7:30 P.M. 441 A communication from Geo. Gardner, Trustee in Bankruptcy of Thomas A. Berkebile was read. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Williams. and duly carried that same be referred to the City Attorney. A comraunicatinn from the Director of Los Angeles County Employment Stabilization was read and ordered placed on file. A con-unication from Boulder Dam Association was read and ordered placed on file. Councilman Johnson offered a resolu- tion entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF A9USA ORD??RIITG A CERTATN CORPORATION GRANT DEED FOR STREET PURPOSES RECORDED. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Mace that this resolu- tion be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1261. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Williams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None. Communication referred to City Attorney. Communication filed.
