The City Council of the City of Azusa
met in regular session at the above
time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen:
Mace, Johnson, Muehe, Meier. City Attorney,
and City Clerk. Absent: Councilmen:
Williams.
The minutes of the last regular meet-
ing. of May 4, 1931 ,--ere read and
approved as read.
' The monthly report of the Los ;sl:g- les County
Health Department -gas presented and
ordered placed on file.
A communication signed by J. L. Pomeroy,
M. D. and presented to the Council
through Dr. Furstman, was read.
Moved by Councilman Prluehe, seconded by
Councilman Johnson and Iuly carried
that the City Clerk be instructed to
request Dr. Furstman to be present at
the next regular meeting of the City
Council on June 1, 1931.
A communication signed by J. L. Pomeroy,
M. D.., requesting the Council to pass
a resolution and send the same to the
Supervisor of this District, requesting
that no drastic cuts be made in the
budget for public health,was read.
Moved and carried that same be placed
on file.
A communication signed by J. 0. hxrrell'
' requesting the removal of two old
pepper trees was presented.
Moved and carried that same be taken
up at next regular meeting.
A'communicntinn from Charles E. Van Dame
& Company offering to Audit the City
books for the fiscal year 1931 for
$,425.00 was read and ordered placed
on file.
-> Moved by Councilman P,luehe, seconded by
Councilman Johnson th��t the City
Clerk be instructed to purchase
a membership in the University of
Southern California School of Public
Administration Short Course to be held
Jund 8 to 13, inclusive, 1931. The
cost of membership to be $P5.00.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace,
Johns^n, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman '."lilliams.
A list of supplies needed for the
Slouson Idemorial Plunge was presented.
Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by
Councilman Johnson that same be re-
ferred to the Purchasing Committee
with Power to act. Carried by the
following vote of the Council:
Ayes:Councilmen: Mace, Johnson,
Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent:
Councilman Williams.
Councilman Mace offered a resolution
entitled:

by Councilman Johnson that this resolu-
tion be adopted as read and numbered
Resolution No. 1262. Carried by the
following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson,
Muehe, Meier. Noes* None. Absent:
Councilman Williams.
Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded
by Councilman Mace that the matter of
window shades for the living quarters
in the Fire Department be referred
to the Board of Public 'Norks with power
to act. Carried by the following
vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson,
Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent:
Councilman 1,illiams.
Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded
by Councilman Iduehe that the following
bills be allowed and warrants ordered
drawn upon the treasury for the same.
