Present at roll call: Councilmen: Johnosn, Williams, Muehe, Meier, City Attorney and City Clerk: Absent: Councilman Mace. The minutes of the last regular meeting of June 15, 1931, were read and arr.roved ' as read. A letter received from Mame B. Beaty, Chief Clerk for the Board of Supervisors, thanking the Council on behalf of the Board, for their cooperation relating to Sub -divisions, was read. Moved and carried that same be placed on file. A communication from Vosburg Brothers, Inc. relative to the expiration dates on certain policies was read. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Council- man Willtams that same be referred to the Audit and Finance Committee, with power to act. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Williams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Mace. Communication Filed. Communication referred to Audit &: Finance Committee. Communication Filed. Mayor Fz City Clerk authorized to sign warrant in amount of ?200.00 City Clerk instructed to virite Mr. Ylhitnall of League of California Municipalities. A communication from Faulkner, Oakes & Faulkner relative to the audit of the City books was read and ordered placed on file. ' Moved by Councilman ;Nluehe, seconded by Councilman Johnson that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign a warrant made on the '.dater Fund, in the amount of x200.00, payable to the San Gabriel Valley Protective Association Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Vlilliams, lluehe, Meier. Noes; None. Absent: Councilman Mace. A communication from the League of Californi,n Municipalities signed by Gordon 71hitnall was read, stating that the League has established a Southern California office in Los Angeles as a means of rendering better service to member cities, also that the University of California at Berkeley has offered the League the facilities of the University and asking the opinion of the Council as to whether or not the League should accept this offer. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Johnson that the City Clerk be instructed to write Mr. Whitnall expressing the Councils approval of such a move on the part of the League. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilman Johnson, 71illiams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Mace. Communication Filed. Communication referred to Audit &: Finance Committee. Communication Filed. AP=OINTTNG MACDONALD BONNER AS MANAGER OF THE CITY PLUNGE AND FIXING HIS COMPENSATION. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seernded by Councilman Johnson that this resolution RESOLUTION #1265 be adopted as read and numberd Resolution ADOPTED. No. 1265. Carried by the follo�-,ing vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilman: Johnson. Williams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Mace. Moved by Councilman Jphnson, seconded by Councilman Williams that the claim Santa Fe Railway Co. of the Santa Fe Railway Company in the claim allowed. amount of .52464.34 be allowed. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Johnson, i7illiams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Mace. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman '."lilliams that the "Assignment of Beneficial and Payee interest" deposited .with the Bank of Italy National Assignment of ben— Trust and Savings Association and for Bank eficial and.Payee of America National Trust and Savings interest authorized Association, Trust Department., during the forward to Bank of month of October, 1930, relative to Trust Italy. No. BA -243 and/a avails, relative to Paramount Tract, be amended as set forth in the written amended instructions now on file in the City Clerk's Office and dated July 7, 1931 and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign said amended instructions on behalf of the City and forward same to the said Bank of Italy, sits., Trust Department. Carried by the following vote of the Council.: Ayes: Councilmen: John- son, Williams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Mace. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman J hnson, that the City Clerk be authorized to sign a contract between the City of Azusa and the General Electric Company and the City of Am sa and the Westinghouse Electric Company. Carried by the followint vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Williams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Mace. Mayor Meier directed the term of office for J. C. Muehe as Trustee on the Library Board, be changed from four years to three years; the term expiring June, -30. 1934. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Williams that the following bills be allowed and warrants ordered dram upon the treasury for the same. Carried by the following, vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Williams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Mace. City Clerk author- ized to sign contract J. C. Muehe, term of office on Library Board expires June 30; 1934.
