The City Council. of the City of Azusa met
in regular session ,t the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilman Johnson,
Williams, Muehe, Meier, City Attorney and
City Clerk. Absent: Councilman Mace.
The minutes of the last regular meeting of
July 6, 1931 were read and approved as read.

cashier of the Azusa Valley Savings Bank
relative to the fee of 825.00 for a business
license was read.
Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by
Councilman Johnson that the City Clerk
be authorized to draw a Warrant in favor
of the Azusa Valley Savings Bank and
the First National Bank of Azusa in the amount
of $13.00 each. Carried by the following
vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson,
Williams, Muehe, IeIeier. Noes: None. Absent:
Councilman Mace.
A communication signed by J. R. Pinkstaff
asking a refund on double assessment was
read.
Moved by Councilman Williams, seconded by
Councilman Johnson that the City Clerk be
authorized to draw a warrant in favor of
J. R. Pinkstaff in the amount of $26.70
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. A,,sent:

A request for a two weeks vacation was made
by C. E. Gauldin and James Rogers, Sr.
Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by
Councilman Johnson that C. E. Gauldin and
James Rogers, Sr. be granted a two weeks
vacation with pay. Carried by the following
vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen:
Johnson, Williams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Mace.
The monthly report of the Los Angeles
County Health Department was read and
ordered placed on file.
The request of Mrs. Whitmer to rent her
house on Paramount Avenue to be used as
a Rest Home was presented.
Moved and carried that the City Clerk be
instructed to write Mrs. Whitmer requesting
her to take the matter up with the Los
Angeles County Health Department.
Councilman Muehe offered an ordinance
entitled:

AZUSA, ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE. OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA PROVIDING A SYSTEM FOR THE ASSESS- Ordinance read for

Councilman Williams offered an ordinance

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT
IN THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, OF FOUR
ZONES, CONSISTING OF VARIOUS DISTRICTS
AND -PRESCRIBING THE CLASES OF BUILDINGS,
STRUCTURES AND IMPROVEMENTS IN SAID
SEVERAL ZONES AND THE USES THEREOF, AND
PRESCRIBING THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION OF
THE PROITTSIONS THEREOF. Ordinance read for

of Police, C. E. Gauldin, be authorized to Chief of Police
purchase four Lochryite Tear Gas Guns and authorized to
sixteen shells, the total purchase price purchase Tear Gas
