HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - August 3, 1931 - CCCITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, August 3, 1931 7:30 P.M. The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Muehe, Meier, City Attorney 8-. City Clerk. Absent: Councilman ''dilliams. At this time Councilman Williams entered and took his seat. The minutes of the last regular meeting of July 20, 1931 were read and approved as read. ' Applications for a two weeks vacation beginning August 15, 1931 were presented by H. C. Franklin and Clyde Garrison. Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Mace that H. C. Franklin Pnd Clyde Garrison be granted two weeks vacation with pay. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Council- man: Williams. At this time Councilman Williams entered and took his seat. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman J„hnson and unanimously carried that Mayor M-ier be appointed to serve on Board of Directors of the Los kr.geles County League of Muncipalities, the City Clerk instructed to inform the league of this appointment. A request made by the City Council of the City of Pomona to hang a banner across the street advertising the Los Angeles County Fair at Pomona in September, was offered. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Mace and unanimously carried that the City Clerk be instructed to write the Pomona City Council, granted permission to hang, the banner. A communication from the Los Angeles County League of Municipalities regard- ing membership dues was read. Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Mace that the City Clerk be authorized to -draw a warrant for $20.00 in favor of the Los Angeles County League of Municipalities. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Williams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman J„hnson and unanimously carried that Mayor M-ier be appointed to serve on Board of Directors of the Los kr.geles County League of Muncipalities, the City Clerk instructed to inform the league of this appointment. 477 H. Councilman Mare offered an ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF A7.USAAMENDTNG SECTIONS 21 AND 27, OF ORDINANCE NO. 154, OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AZUSA. PROVIDING A SYSTEM FOR THE ASSESMENT, LEVY, AND COLLECTION OF TAXES PASSED AND APPROVED THE 24th DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1914. to be placed upon its second reading. This ordinance was then read for the second time. Moved by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Muehe that this ordinance be adopted as read and numbered Ordinance No. 294 Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, 'Nilliams, Muehe, Meier. 477 H. A motion was made and carried that same be referred to Jack Pierce.
