AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE (TITLE 88 OF THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL
CODE) ARTICLE XIII, "NONCONFORMING USES, BUILDINGS, AND
STRUCTURES" ADDING CLARIFYING LANGUAGE TO SECTION 88-1915
REGARDING THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF NONCONFORNIING
STRUCTURES
CODE AMENDMENT #209
The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: Section 88-1915 of Article XIII, "Nonconforming Uses, Buildings and
Structures" of Title 88 of the Azusa Municipal Code, is hereby amended as follows:
Sec. 88-1915. Same - Repair of Damaged or Partially Destroyed Buildings and
Structures.
Any legal nonconforming building or structure damaged or partially destroyed by
fire or other calamity, or by an act of God, subsequent to the effective date of this
Chapter may be reconstructed, provided that the cost of such reconshuction does not
exceed 75% of the apprsised- r�facement value of such building or structure as
determined by the City Building Official, at the time such damage occurred.
SECTION 2: The City Council hereby deternunes that this recommendation and adoption
of the proposed ordinance pursuant to the City of Azusa implementing procedures and the State
CaliforniaEnvironmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines (Article 19, Categorical Exemptions) will
not have a significant impact on the environment, and is Categorically Exempt as a member of Class
8 ofthe CEQA Guidelines and Class 8 ofthe City Azusa Local Guidelines for Ixnplementing CEQA.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days after its passage.
