Present at roll call: Councilmen: Mace, Williams, Muehe, Mier, City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman Johnson. The minutes of the last regular meeting of February 1, 1932, the Special Meeting, of February 8, and the Adjourned meeting of February 15, 1932, were read and approved as read. A communication from The United States Daily at Washington, D. C. extending an invitation to the officials of this muni- cipal government to use the column of their paper to discuss problems of govern- ment, was read. Moved and carried that the City Clerk be instructed to acknowledge receipt of'same and send them the names of the members of the Council. An invitation to attend the American Legion celebration on February 24, 1932 was read and ordered placed on file. Communication Filed. Invitation filed. An invitation to attend the meeting of the Association of City Clerks, Auditors Invitation filed. and Treasurers .to be held in Brawly, was read and ordered placed on file. A request to operate a Mexican Club in Azusa, was read. Request for Mexican Moved by Counhilman'Muehe, seconded Club in Azusa denied. by Councilman Mace that same be denied. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilman: Mace, Williams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None.' Absent: Councilman Johnson. A request made by J. 0. Durrell to renew policy No. 4313, Fire Insurance on Library, J: 0. Durrell to was read. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded renew Fire Insurance by Councilman Williams that this request be granted. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Williams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Jnhnson. The monthly.report of the Los Angeles Report filed. County Health Department was presented and ordered placed on file. A communication signed by C. J. Williamson, Secretary of the Los Angeles Chamber of Comminication.referri Commerce relative to the removal of dead ed to Street Super - trees in a abandoned groveg,was read. intendent.. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Mace that this matter be referred to the Street Superintendent to report back at next regular meeting. ' A communication from J. L. Pomeroy, M. D. regarding contemplated changes in.Health Communication filed. Services in Azusa, was read and ordered placed on file. A copy of a Resolution, adopted by the Business and Proffessional Women's Club of Communication filed. Azusa, regarding "Clean-up week", was read. Moved and carried that same be placed on file. 46 r: G I MINUTES OF THE ,v REGULAR MEETING HELD February 17, 1932 7:30 P.M;.47- Councilman Mace offered a Resolution Entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, CALLING A GENERAL MUNICIPAL FLECTION TO BE NELD IN SAID CITY ON THE llth DAY OF APRIL, 1932, GIVING A GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE VOTING PRECINCT AND LOCATION OF THE POLLTNG PLACE, APPOINTING TILE ELECTION RESOLUTION NO. 1262 OFFICERS THEREFORE AND DIRECTTNG NOTICE ADOPTED. TO BE GIVEN OF SUCu ELECTION AS REQUIRED BY LAT. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Muehe that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Reolu- tion No. 1282. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, :Williams, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Johnson. Mr.' Wood and Mr. Albright appeared be- fore the Council requesting a building Matter of erecting permit to erect a tile factory on the tile factory referred West 15 i+cres of the South half of Lot to Council as Com - 47 and the !lest 5 acres of the North mittee of the Whole. half of Lot 47, all in the Subdivision No. 2 of the Azusa Land and Water Company, in the City of Azusa, County of Los Angelos, State of Cplifornia, as per map recorded in Book 43, page 94, Miscellaneous records of said County. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Muehe that this matter be referred to the Council as a Committee fi of the Whole. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Muehe that the City Clerk be instructed to publish the BILLS following Notice: NOTICE INVITING BIDS NOTICE is hereby given that sealed bids will be re- ceived by the City Council of the City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, California, at the office of the City Clerk up to seven (7) o'clock P. M., on March 7th., 1932, for furnishing to the City of Azusa, certain material, including cast iron pipe, fittings, gate valves, fire hydrants, and other material, all as per the specifications and memorandum thereof as on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, to which specifications and memorandum, all prospective bidders are referred and directed for full information. Said material to be delivered by the successful bidder at the place it is to be used in said City and as shown in said membrandum. Payment for said material to be made as stated in said memorandum. ' The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids. By order of the City Council of the said City of Azusa, adopted February 17th, 1932. M. A.
