January 16, 1933; 7:30 P.M. 21L The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Morden, Meier; City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman Williams. The Minutes of the last regular meeting of January 3, 1933 were read and approved as read. The monthly report of the Los Angeles County Health Department was presented. Moved and carried that same be placed on file. A notice of meeting of the San Gabriel Valley Protective Association was read and ordered placed on file. Monthly report of Los Angeles County Health Dept. ordered placed on file. Notice read and ordered placed on file. A request from J. 0. Durrell, to renew J. 0. Liability Policy for Light & Water renew Departments, vas read: Moved by Council -City man Mace, seconded by Councilman Morden the that same be referred to the City Council' as a Committee of the Whole. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Morden, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Williams. Councilman Mace*offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE ' CITY OF AZUSA OPPOSING ANY LEGISLATION THAT WILL RESULT IN A DIVERSION OF ANY PORTION OF'THE GASOLINE TAX FUNDS TO THE GENERAL FUNDS OF' THE STATE. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman.Johnson that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1322. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Morden, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Williams. Councilman Morden offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF' THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA PRCTESTING ANY FEDERAL TAXATION WHICH IMPOSES, OR IaY BE INTERPRETED TO IMPOSE, A BURDEN UPON STATES, STATE AGENCIES AND/OR PUB- LICLY OWNED UTILITIES. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Mace that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Re- solution No 1323. Carried by the following vote of the Council: ' Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Morden, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Williams. Councilman Johnson offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ORDERING A CERTAIN EASEMENT FOR STREET PURPOSES RECORDED. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Morden that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolu- tion No. 1324. Carried by the follow- ing vote of the Council: Ayes: Council- men: Mace, Johnson, Morden, Meier. Durrell's request to policy referred to the Council as a Committee Whole. Councilman Williams entered the meeting and took his seat. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Mace and duly carried that the City Council adjourn and enter an executative session for fifteen minutes. Immediately thereafter the meeting was resumed. Councilman Morden offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA APPROPRIATING MONEYS FOR ADVERTISING PURPOSES TO BE DONNE THROUGH THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF AZUSA. Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Morden that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1325.• Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Morden, Williams, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman i+lorden offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF' THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO PROCURE AN -OPTION FROP1[ VOSBURG BROTHERS, INC., A CORP;.. ORATION, FOR THE PURCHASE OF FIVE ACRES OF 'PLATER BEARING LANDS. Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Mace that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No 1326. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson; Morden, Williams Meier. Noes: None. Absent:' None. Councilman Morden offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA FIXING CERTAIN SALARIES. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Johnson that this resolu- tion be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1327. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Morden, Williams, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Williams that the following bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn upon the Treasury for the same. Councilman Williams en- tered the meeting.
