Present at roll call: Councilmen: Mace, Calvert, Johnson, Morden, Meier, City Attorney pro tem and City Clerk. The minutes of the last regular meeting of July 30 1933 were read and approved as read. Mr'. C. C. Collins' request to place a Neon sign with wording "Acme on Top" also*one on awning with same wording, 315 C. C. Collins request granted. was presented. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by,Councilman Mace that this request be granted, provided the signs are erect- ed^•; under the direction of the Street Superintendent. Carried by the follow- Ing,vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace,,Calvert, Johnson, Morden, Meier. -Noes:' None. Absent: None. The monthly report of the Los Angeles Report of Los Angeles County Health Department was presented. County Health Dept. filed, Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Calvert that same be accepted and placed on file. A request, from the City of Pomona, for permission to hang signs across streets of -,Azusa advertising the Los Angeles County Fair, was read. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Morden that same be granted. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Calvert, Johnson, Morden, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None. City of Pomona granted permission to hang sign. A communication from A. J. Messier, State Compensation Insurance Fund and Associated Communication filed. Telephone Company, Ltd. were read and ordered placed on file. A communication from Richard M. Bates, regarding the repainting of the Clerk's R. M. Bates regarding Office, was read. Moved by Councilman the painting of Clerk's Maoe,,seconded by Councilman Calvert office. and -duly carried that the City Clerk be instructed to notify Mr. Bates, that the Clerk's Office had been refinished during the month of June. Morgan Hardware offered a bid on the Morgan Hardware offered Incadescent lamps. No action was a bid on lamps. taken. ' Councilman Johnson offered an Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF TETE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA MAKING, IT UNLAWFUL FOR TWO OR MORE PERSONS TO "OBSTRUCT THE SIDEWALKS OR THE STREETS; REGULATING PUBLIC MEETINGS ORDINANCE NO. 302 IN PUBLIC STREETS AND PARKS AND PROVIDING ADOPTED. A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE* to -be placed upon its second reading. This Ordinance was then read for the second time. Services Noes: None. Absent: None. 1031 Moved by Councilman Calvert, seconded by Councilman Mace that J. 0. Durrell be appointed a member of the Azusa City Planning Commission, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Albert Miller, The Azusa Herald and-Pomotropic offered a bid'for the City's legal printing. Moved by Councilman Calvert, seconded by Coucilman Morden that this bid be accepted, until further orders. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Calvert, John- son, Morden, Meier. Noes: -.None. Absent: None. J. 0. Durrell appointed member of planning Com- mission. Bid on Legal Printings accepted. Councilman J hnson introduced seven ' members of tfie Volunteer Fire Department, who appeared before the Council, in new uniforms.
