August 21, 1933 7:30 P.M. 331 The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session -.at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilman Calvert, Morden, Meier, City Attorney 'enol City Clerk. Absent: Councilmen: Mace and Johnson. -The minutes"of the last regular meeting of August 7, 1933 werer read and approved as'read. The City Clerk announced that she had received two applications for the distribution of Alcoholic Beverages. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Calvert that the applica- tions be read: 'Fred Raab ---Class B Foothill Distributors ----Class F. Moved,by'Councilman.Calverti_seconded by Councilman Morden that the'above applications be granted. Carried by - the -following vote of the Council: Ayes:' Councilmen: Calvert, Morden, Meier:• Noes: None. Absent: Council- men: Mace; Johnson. An application for a two weeks vacation by,"Arthur Wolfe was read. Moved by Councilman Calvert, seconded by Council- man -Morden and duly carried that same be -granted with pay. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Calvert, Morden, Meier. Noes: None, Absent: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson. Two applications for sale of Alcoholic Beverages granted. . Arthur Wolfe granted two _..weeks.vacation with pay. The monthly report of the Los Angeles Report of Los Angeles County County Health Department was presented , Health Dept. ordered placed and ordered placed on file* on file. The Bungalow Cafe offered a bid of 31i'cents per "meal on the City of AzusaBid for prisoner's meals Prisoi2er's board. Moved by Councilman , referred to Audit & Finance Morden, seconded by Councilman Calvert Committee. that this matter be referred to the Audit and Finance Committee with power to act. A"communication signed by F. A. Baughn was read and ordered placed on file... The Firm of Crenshaw, Diehl and Wright Budget for 1933-1934 presented the budget for the fiscal accepted. year•,1933 and 134. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Calvert that.same be accepted. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Calvert, Morden, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Mace -and Johnson, Mrs. Pearl Newfeld addressed the Council' asking permission to erect a Gospel Tent on the corner of Sante Fe and Alameda Avenues, the same to remain for's period of three weeks. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Calvert that same be granted. Mrs.'Newfeld granted permission to erect gospe: tent. MINUTES OF THE -REGULAR. MEIER TO REPRESENT THE CITY OF AZUSA BEFORE THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY AIM INISTRATION. RESOLUTION NO. 1358 1,- AID PTED. Moved by Councilman Calvert, seconded by Councilman Morden that this Resolu- tion be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1358.
