The City Council of the City of Azusa met
in regular adjourned session at the above
time and place.
Present At roll call: Councilmen: Mace,
Madison, Johnson, Morden, Meier, City Attorney
and City Clerk.
Councilman Mace offered a resolution entitled::
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA ADOPTING CERTAIN PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS
' AND ESTIMATES OF COST AND QUANTITIES FOR THE
IMPROVEMENT OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF AZUSA AVENUE -
STATE HIGHWAY ROUTE NO. 62 WITHIN SAID CITY.
Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by
Councilman Mace that this Resolution be adopted
as read and numbered Resolution No. 1387.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Madison, Johnson, Morden,
Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None.
Councilman Morden offered a resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE A CERTAIN
MEMORANDUM AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA -
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS RESPECTING STATE
HIGHWAY ROUTES NO.62 AND NO.9 WITHIN SAID CITY
OF AZUSA.
Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman
Mace that this Resolution be adopted as read and
numbered Resolution No11388.
Oarried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Madison, Johnson, Morden,
' Meier. Noes: NRne. Absent: None.
The hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M. having arrived, said
time being the hour set for hearing objections in
the matter of the construction of a sewerage system
and sewage treatment plant and the acquisition of a
site for said treatment plant as set forth in
Resolution of Intention No. 1378 passed by the City
Council of the City of Azusa on the 5th day of
February, 1934, and said hearing being held in the
council chambers of said City Council in the City
Hall of said City of Azusa, being the place, and the
hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M. of said day.

HEARING OF
PROTESTS ON
PROPOSED
SEWAGE SYSTEM
The Mayor, being the presiding officer of the said
City Council, then announced that this was the time,
hour and place for hearing objections in the above
entitled matter and inquired of the City Clerk whether
any written protests or objections had been filed. The
City Clerk repdrted that she had received written protests
signed by Charles Morgan and others, and proceeded to read
said protests and objections.
The Mayor then asked if anyone present had any desire
to be heard in the matter, who had any objections to
' the construction of the work or the acquisition of the
site as proposed in the Resolution of Intention or had
any suggestions to offer in the way of an amendmert or
modification of the proposition.
Wesley Hertenstein, F. M. Strang, W. D. Gillispie, E. Wulff,
Roy Hummell, Mrs Ida M. Shaw and others addressed the
City Council and voiced their objections going towards the
construction of the work. Mr. E. R. Putnam addressed the
Council in favor of the proposition. After which the Mayor
inquired whether anyone else desired to be heard in the matter
and no one responded.

MINUTES OF REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING HELD'FEBRUARY 26, 1934429,
Mr. Wesley`Hertensteln then presented petitions and filed
them with the governing•bbd�t requesting said body to submit
the proposi't`ion of constructing the proposed works and
acquisition of a site for a sewage treatment plant to an
election of property owners in the district which would
be served.
Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Mace as follows:
That the hearing in the matter of protests and objections
in the above entitled matter be closed and the petititons
' filed requesting said City Council to'submit the proposition
of constructing the proposed works and acquisition of a
site for a sewage treatment plant to an election of
propertyowners in the distridt which would be served be
referred to the City Engineer for checking to determine
whether the peititions filed contained the signatures of
fifteen per cent or more of such property owners within
the'district and report to the City Council.
Which said motion was seconded by Councilman Johnson'and
upon roll call the same was adopted by the following vote
to wit:
Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Madison, Johnson, Morden, Meier.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Morder, seconded
by Councilman Mace that the following
bills be allowed and warrants ordered Bills
drawn upon the Treasury for thes ane.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Madison,
Johnson, Mordern, Meier. Noes: None.
