The City'Council of the City of Azusa met in
regular session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Mace,
Madison, Johnson, Morden, Meier, City Attorney
and City Clerk.
The minutest of the last regular meeting of
March 19, 1934, were read and approved as
read.
A communication relative to meeting of the
San Gabriel Valley Protective Association
was read.
Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Council-
man Morden that,the City Clerk be instrudted
and authorized to execute proxy, appointing
Fred C. Collins lawful attorney at -"this meeting,
and mail same to the Secretary of the Association.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes:- Councilmen: Mace, Madison, Johnson,
Morden, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None.
A request,' presented by Spriggs Brothers ,
Hardware Company, for the City's lamp Business
was read. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded
by Councilman Mace that the same be referred
to Jack Pierce.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Madison, Johnson,
Morden, Meier. Noes: None. Absent; None.
Councilman Morden offered an ordinance entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
' OF AZUSA REGULATING THE INSTALLATION, ARRANGE-
NIENT, ALTERATION, REPAIR, USE AND OPERATION
OF ELECTRIC WIRING, CONNECTIONS, FIXTURES AND
OTHER ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES IN BUILDINGS AND
OTHER STRUCTURES WITHIN THE CITY OF AZUSA,
AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS THERE-
OF: AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. AND
ALL ORDINANCES•OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CON-
FLICT HEREWITH.
to be placed upon its second reading. The
title was then read.
Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Council -
Mace that the further reading of this ordinance
be waived.
Carriedby the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Madison, Johnson,
Morden, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: .None.
Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Council-
man Madison that this ordinance be adopted as
read and numbered Ordinance No: 308.

Morden, Meier. Noes; None. Absent: None.
' City Attorney Tscharner reported in writing,
on the matter of a 99 year lease on City oimed
property, to the American Legion Canyon City
Post #180.
Moved and carried that this report be placed
on file.

MEETINGOFi THE CITY COUNCIL HELD APRIL 2, 1934. 7:30 P.M.
A RESOLUTION OF THE'CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA APPOINTING C. H. PUTNAP+I, DEPUTY CITY
ASSESSOR AND FIXING HIS SALARY.
Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Council-
man Madsion that this Resolution be adopted as
read and numbered Resolution No. 1395.//y
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Madison, Johnson,
Morden, Meier'. Noes: None. Absent: None.
The City Clerk presented to the City Council
the sealed tally sheets and ballots for the
' Sewer Revenue Bond Election held on March 30,
1934. Upon motion by Councilman Morden, duly
seconded by Councilman Mace, the Council'pro-
ceeded to canvass the returns of said election.
Councilman Morden offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA DETERMINING AND DECLARING, THE VOTE CAST
AT THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD ON THE 30th DAY OF
MARCH, 1934, IN THE CITY OF AZUSA UPON THE
FOLLOWING PROPOSITION TO -WIT: "SHALL SEWER
REVENUE BONDS OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA,
IN THE SUM OF $148,000.000 BE ISSUED FOR THE
PURPOSE OF ACQUIRING AND CONSTRUCTING A --SEWAGE
SYSTEM INCLUDING TREATMENT PLANT, COLLECTING
SEWERS AND APPURTENANCES,'TO SERVE PROPERTY
WITHIN THE DISTRICT SET FORTH AND OUTLINED IN
RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1378 OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF SAID CITY OF AZUSAV'
Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Council-
man Madsion that this Resolution be adopted
' as read and numbered Resolution No. 1396.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilman: Mace, Madison, Johnson,
Morden, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None.
Councilman Madison offered a Resolution entitled:
A'R_ESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, TRANSFERRING TEN THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($10,000) FROM THE LIGHT FUND TO THE
GENERAL FUND.
Moved,by Councilman Mace, seconded by Council-
man Morden that this Resolution be adopted as
read -and numbered Resolution No. 1397.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Madison, Johnson,
Morden, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None.
Mr. Conover, Secretary of the Azusa Chamber of
Commerce, -,addressed the City,Council regarding
the financial condition of that department.
No action was taken.
Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Council-
man Madison that the following bills be allowed
and warrents ordered drawn upon the Treasury
for the same.
