A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS
ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING AID FOR CERTAIN
STREET IMPROVEMENTS FROM THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES,
CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, Section 1680 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California,
authorized the Counties to extend aid to Cities for street improvements subject to certain pro-
visions specified therein, and
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles has followed a policy of appropriating an
amount for aid to cities out of the gasoline tax money received by the County from the State
and of distributing this amount according to certain formula, and
WHEREAS, the City of Azusa's unallocated balance in this fund is presently $18,191.79
more or less, and
WHEREAS, the City of Azusa intends to reconstruct Rockvale Avenue a distance of
.22 miles, construction to include pavement and base, said Rockvale Avenue serves County
residents for ingress and egress to Azusa High School, and serves as a safe and efficient means
of traffic circulation to said high school, and
THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows:
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the City of Azusa hereby requests the County of
Los Angeles through the office of the County Road Commissioner for a grant of $18,191 .00 from
the City's share on the aforementioned Aid to Cities Gas Fund to complete the work on the above-
mentioned street, subject to the provisions of the County Road Commissioner and the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor shall sign this resolution and the City Clerk
attest the some and certify to the passage and adoption thereof.
