MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING HELD April 16, 1934. 7:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: -
WHEREAS a general municipal elction was held and conducted in
the City of Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of California,
on Monday the 9th day of April, 1934, as required by law, and
WHEREAS it appears that Notice of said election w'as•duly`and
legally given and that there was one Voting Precinct established
for said election consistiiig,of'consolidation of regular City
Precincts for holding State and County elections as the same were
and are established by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles,
California: that election officials were appointed and'election
supplies furnished and that in all respects said election was
held and conducted and the returns thereof made and declared in
time, form and manner as required by -the General Laws of the State
of California governing elections in cities of the fifth and sixth
classes: and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Azusa met at the Council
Chambers of said Council on Monday the 16th day of Aprif, 1934,
to canvass the returns of said election and install the newly
elected officers. Whereupon the said Council found that the
number of votes cast, the names of the persons voted for, the -
result of said election and other matter required by law, to be
as hereinafter stated:
NOW THEREFORE,- IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED AND DECLARED AS FOLLOWS: -
That said regular municipal election was held and conducted in the
City of Azusa,,California, on Monday the 9th day of April, 1934,
in the time, form and manner as required by law.
That there was one voting precinct established for the purpose
of holding said election consisting of a consolidation of the
regular Election Precincts established for holding General,State
and County Elections.
That the whole number of Rotes cast in said City of Azusa at
said election was 1034.
That the names of the persons voted for, the offices for which
they were voted, and the number of votes which were received
in the entire Oity of Azusa are as follows: -

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND DETERMINED that at said general -
municipal election Roy C. Arnold was elected to office of Member
of the City Council of the City of Azusa, California, for the -full
term of four years; also that Walter Malone was elected to the
office of Member of the City Council of the City of Azusa, California
for the full term of four years; also that Harry S. Cheater was
elected to the office of Member of the City Council of the City
of Azusa, California, for the full term of"four years.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall immediately
make and deliver to each of said persons so elected a Certificate
of Election signed by her and duly authenticated; that she shall
also impose the constitutional oath of office upon said persons
so elected as Members of the City Council of said City and shall
have them and each of them subscribe thereto and file the same
in her office; thereupon each and all of said persons so elected
to,said respective offices shall be inducted into said respective
office to which they -have been elected.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly -adopted -
by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting
held"this 16th day of April, 1934, by the following vote of the
Council:
AYES: Councilmen: Mace, Madison, Johnson, Morden, Meier,
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None,

Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by
Councilman Madison that this Resolution be
adopted as read and numbered Resolution No.
1400.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Madison, Johnson,
Morden, Meier. •
Noes: None, Absent: None.
The City Council elect, Messrs. Walter Malone,
Roy C. Arnold.and Harry S. Chester immediately
took, subscribed and filed the constitutional
oath of office, as required by law. The Council
thus constituted,•took theif, seats and preceeded
to organize.
Councilman Meier nominated Councilman Morden
to the office.of Mayor. This nomination was
seconded by Councilman Malone and carried by the
following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Malone, Arnold, Meier Chester.
Noes: None._ Absent: None. Councilman Horden_
not voting.
Councilman Morden immediately took the chair.
Roll call: Councilman Malone, Arnold, Meier,
Chester, Morden and City Clerk.
Applications presented by Mr. and Mrs. Pinksta"..
Floyd Rorabeck and ack Ackles were presented and
ordered placed on file.
A contract for the purchase of gasoline, was

Moved and carried that the same be brought
' up at the regular adjourned meeting of the
