The minutes of the last regular meeting of
April 16th, the adjourned meeting of April
18th and the special session of April 20, 19342
were read end ann_roved as read.
Mr. Fred Baughn, representing the Southern.
California League of Municipalities, addressed
the City Council.- No,actlon was,taken.

A communication signed by A. J.' Messier,
Business manager for Los Angeles - County
Health Department, relative to the contract
which how exists between the City of Azusa
and the Los Angeles County Health Depart-
mdnt, was read. No.action was taken.
Proposals to furnish new wheelsefor the
fire truck were presented by the Pacific
Wheel & Rim Service and Kay -Brunner Steel
Products Inc.
Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by
Councilmen,Meier that the City Clerk -be
instructed to advertise for bids to,furnish
new wheels and tires for the fire truck.

Chester, Morden.

A communication signed by C. C. Carpenter,
Superintendent of Azusa City Schools, re-
questing the use of the Slauson Memorial
Plunge was read.
Moved by Councilmen Malone, seconded by
Councilmen Arnold that the Azusa School'
District be granted permission to use the
Slauson Memorial Plunge with the under-
standing that the district assume ell
responsibility on account thereof, effective
as of April 30, 1934 and until June 15, 1934.

Mr. Kressly„ City Engineer, advised the
members of'the Council of the necessity of
constructing a retaining wall end gutters
along a portion of the east side of Azusa
Avenida.
Moved by Councilmen Meier, seconded by
Councilman Arnold that this matter be referred
to the Board of Public Works with power to
act.
A communication from Division Superintendent
G. C. Fluhr of the Atchison, Toneka and Santa
Fe Railway Company regarding the pavement
across the rails at the crossings on Alameda,
Dalton and Soldano Avenues, was read.
