HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 4829RESOLUTION NO. 4829 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ESTABLISHING A RED "NO PARKING" ZONE AND A "RIGHT TURN" LANE ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF FOOTHILL BOULEVARD BETWEEN ANGELENO AVENUE AND SAN GABRIEL AVENUE. The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: SECTION 1 . The City Council of the City of Azusa, pursuant to Section 3200.33 of the Azusa Municipal Code,hereby finds that the public health, safety, and welfare will best be protected by the establishment of a red "No Parking" zone on the south side of Foothill Boulevard, between Angeleno Avenue and San Gabriel Avenue, within the corporate limits of the City of Azusa. SECTION 2. The City Council does hereby establish and declare such area set forth in Section 1 of this resolution as a red "No Parking" zone. SECTION 3. The City Council of the City of Azusa hereby finds that it would be to the best interests of the public to establish a right turning traffic lane on the south side of Foothill Boulevard, between San Gabriel Avenue and Angeleno Avenue, in order to facilitate the turning movement onto San Gabriel Avenue. SECTION 4. The City Council does hereby establish and declare the said southern- most lane, as set forth in Section 3 of this resolution, as a "Right Turn" lane. SECTION 5. This resolution shall not become effective until said zones are point- ed in accordance with State Law in order to carry out the purpose of this resolution. In addi- tion, this resolution shall not become effective until the some has been approved in writing by the Department of Public Works of the State of California. The City Engineer is directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Department of Public Works for action thereon. SECTION 6. This resolution shall cease to be operative six months after receipt by the City Council of written notice of withdrawal of approval of the Department of Public Works.
