HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 4825RESOLUTION NO. 4825 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA PROCLAIMING THE WEEK OF APRIL 26, 1965 AS PUBLIC SCHOOLS WEEK, The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the public schools of America have helped to keep this nation free through the strength of a free and democratic society attained through the investment of public education, and WHEREAS, the public schools are dedicated to providing the knowledge, skills, and understanding necessary to develop the capabilities of all students to their highest potential while providing equal educational opportunity for all youths, and WHEREAS, as indicated in the Constitution, public education is the first business of the State of California; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby proclaim the week of April 26, 1965 as PUBLIC SCHOOLS WEEK and urges all citizens to show an active and sincere support of our public schools through visitation of our school facilities during this period, and through demonstrating a maximum of interest in the work of our schools and the efforts of our children. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and transmit a certified copy thereof to the Azusa Unified School District. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 19th day of April, 1965. Mayor I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof held on the 19th day of April, 1965, by the following vote of the Council: AYES: Councilmen: Rubio, Cooney, Solem, McLees, Memmesheimer NOES: Councilmen: None ABSENT: Councilmen: None
