RESOLUTION NO. 4320
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
ESTABLISHING A COMMITTEE ON AGING, DETERMINING ITS
FUNCTIONS AND PURPOSES, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
APPOINT MEMBERS THERETO.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council does hereby determine that there
is a need for a local Committee on Aging, charged with the responsi-
bility for over-all community planning in this field, with such plan-
ning to be based on sound principles adapted to the local community.
SECTION 2. The City Council further declares that the func-
tions of said Committee are:
1) To study, collect, develop and desseminate factual data
and other information relative to all aspects of aging,
general and specific needs of the aging, available and
potential resources for the aging and the contributions
which can be made by the aging.
2) To engage in community planning in the field of aging,
stimulate and inform local and state organizations and
officials, the community at large, and older people
themselves about aging, and to promote, support, evaluate,
and implement the development, operations, and improve-
ment of standards and direct programs, but not to engage
in the operation of such programs.
3) To perform such other activities in the field of consul-
tation, community education, inter -agency deliberation,
as may be deemed desirable and as directed by the City
Council.
SECTION 3. The City Council does hereby authorize the Mayor
to appoint the membership of the Committee on Aging in such numbers
as he deems necessary and desirable.
SECTION 4. The City Council of the City of Azusa hereby con-
curs and approves the provisions as set forth hereinabove.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution.
