A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA AMENDING THAT PORTION OF EXHIBIT A OF
RESOLUTION NO. 4693 RELATING TO THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That portion of Exhibit A attached to Resolution
No. 4693, adopted July 20, 1964, relating to the Police Department, is
hereby amended as follows:
1. That portion reading as follows:
113 Junior Typist -Clerk and 1 Part time 11"
is hereby amended to read:
"3 Police Clerk 12"
2. That portion reading:
"2 Stenographer -Clerk 14"
is amended to read:
112 Senior Police Clerk 15"
SECTION 2. Exhibit C attached to said Resolution No. 4693
is hereby amended by the addition thereto of the ,fob classification
schedules for Senior Police Clerk and Police Clerk which are attached
hereto and hereby made a part hereof.
SECTION 3. The foregoing amendments shall be effective as
of July 1 , 1966.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution.
Adopted and approved this 7th day of March , 1966.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 7th day of March ,1966, by the following
vote of the Council:

Job Summar9
Under supervision, to transcribe police reports; to assist
officers in transporting female offenders and suspects; to
do routine filing; and do other work as required.
Class Characteristic
This is a specialized entering level clerical class in the
Police Department. Incumbents may be assigned to any shift
or rotated among shifts.
Representative Duties
Types reports from dictaphone recordings; types information
1 for files or index cards; files cards, reports and records;
distributes teletype messages; receives incoming teletype
calls; answers questions and directs inquirers to proper
office.
QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE
Any combination of experience and training substantially
equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade, and two
years of responsible clerical, typing and public contact
experience.
(food knowledge of office methods and practices; good
knowledge of report writing, grammar, english, spelling
and punctuation; good knowledge of proper methods of
dealing with people under adverse circumstances; ability
to work accurately and quickly in handling a variety of
filing and record keeping; ability to work under pressure;
maturity, judgment and calm, organized personality.

Training and Experience

Any combination of training and experience substantially equiva-
lent to completion of the twelfth grade and three years of re-
sponsible clerical, typing, and public contact experience. .

Good knowledge of office methods and practices; good knowledge
of report writing, grammar, English, spelling and punctuation;
good knowledge of proper methods of dealing with people under
adverse circumstances; ability to work accurately and quickly
in handling.a variety of filing and record keeping; ability to
work under pressure; maturity, judgment and calm, organized
personality.
A typing speed of 50 words per minute and shorthand speed of
90 words per minute.
