RESOLUTION NO. 4975
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA FINDING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST, CONVENIENCE
AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN
PROPERTY FOR STREET PURPOSES - CERRITOS AVENUE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby finds, determines
and declares that the public interest and necessity require the
acquisition of right of way in, on, over and under the hereinafter
described real property for public street purposes and all uses
appurtenant thereto.
That the location of the land for said street has been
planned and located in the manner which will be most compatible
to the greatest public good and the least private injury.
SECTION 2. That the City Council finds, determines and
declares that, in order to acquire said right of way in, on, over
and under said land for said street purposes, and use the same for
said purposes, the public interest, convenience and necessity re-
quire the acquisition of the right of way by the City of Azusa in,
on, over and under that certain real property hereinafter described
and the City Council hereby declares it is the intention of the
City of Azusa to acquire in its name said right of way in, on, over
and under said hereinafter described real property by condemnation
in,accordance with the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure
and the Constitution of the State of California authorizing the
exercise of the right of eminent domain.
SECTION 3. That said real property, the acquisition of which
is required by the public interest, convenience and necessity for
the purpose set forth in Sections 1 and 2 hereof, is described as
follows:
That portion of Lot 86, of Subdivision No. 2, Azusa Land
and Water Company as recorded in Miscellaneous Records,
Book 43, Page 94, in the office of the County Recorder,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, described
as follows:
Commencing at the intersection of the centerline of
Cerritos Avenue (80 feet wide) and the centerline of
Foothill Blvd. 100 feet widen as they existed on
January 28, 1966; thence N 89 55'20" W along the center
line of Foothill Blvd. 65.00 feet; thence N 00 04140" E
50.00 feet to the true point of beginning; thence north-
east along a curve concave to the northwest, having a
radius of 25.00 feet, through a central angle of 900
00100" for an are distance of 39.27 feet; thence north-
west along a tangent curve, concave to the southwest,
having a radius of 660.00 feet, through a central angle
of 15 57'55", for an are distance of 183.91 feet; thence
northwest along a tangent curve, concave to the northeast,
having a radius of 740.00 feet, through a central angle of
150 57'55", for an are distance of 206.00 feet; thence N
00 04'40" E to the northerly line of said Lot 86, said
northerly line also being the southerly line of the Atchison
Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad Right of Way (100 feet wide) as

it existed on January 28, 1966; thence east along said
northerly line of Lot 86 to a line that is parallel to
and distant 60.00 feet (measured at right angles) east
of said last mentioned line having a bearing of N 00
04,40" E; thence S 00 04140" W along said parallel line
to a tangent curve; thence southeast along said curve,
concave to the northeast, having a radius of 660.00 feet,
through a central angle of 500 57'55" for an arc distance
of 183.91 feet; thence southeast along a tangent curve
concave to the southwest, having a radius of 740.00 feet
through a central angle of 150 57'55" for an are distance
of 206.20 feet; thence southeast along a curve concave to
the northeast, having a radius of 25.00 feet, through a
central angle of 900 00,00" for an are distance of 39.27
feet; thence N 890 55120" W 130.00 feet to the true point
of beginning.
SECTION 4. That the City Attorney of the City of Azusa and
Burke, Williams & Sorensen hereby are authorized, empowered and
directed to prepare, institute and prosecute in the name of the
City of Azusa such proceedings in the proper court having juris-
diction thereof as are necessary for the condemnation of said rights
of way in said real property described in Section -3 of this
Resolution.
Said attorneys hereby are authorized and empowered to take
such procedure as may be necessary to secure an order of immediate
possession for the use of and occupancy of said property.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of
Azusa held on the 7th day of February , 1966, by the
following vote:
