RESOLUTION NO. 4965
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA DECLARING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST,AND
NECESSITY DEMAND THE IMMEDIATE EXPENDITURE OF
PUBLIC MONEY TO_SAFEGUARD.LIFE, HEALTH AND PROPERTY.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council does hereby find, determine
and declare:
(a) That there is a great public calamity and disaster in
that the pump on the City's Well No. 3 has broken down and is in-
operative, and that Well No._3 is now out of production;
(b) That said Well No. 3 and the production of water there-
from are necessary to insure an adequate water supply to the City
and its inhabitants and to property within the City;
(c) That it is necessary to do emergency work to repair
said Well No. 3 to prepare for and protect local defense;
(d) That the public interest and necessity demand the
immediate expenditure of public money to repair said Well No. 3 and
restore the same to production to safeguard life, health and property.
SECTION 2. That the City Administrator be, and he is
hereby, authorized and directed to procure a new submersible pump
and cause the same to be installed in said Well No. 3 and take all
steps and procure all necessary labor and material to restore said
Well No. 3 to production and to cause said Well No. 3 to be restored
to production as soon as possible and without compliance with Chapter
6, Part 2, Division 3, Title 4 of the Government Code of the State
of California.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.

adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 17th day of January, 1966, by the following vote
of the Council:
AYES: Councilmen: Rubio, Cooney, Solem, McLees, Memmesheimer
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT: Councilmen: Nore
