HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 51400 0 RESOLUTION NO. 514o A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OFAZUSA AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A REQUEST TO THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION FOR FUNDS FROM THE CROSSING PROTECTION FUND FOR THE PROTECTION OF CROSSING NO. 2-116.8 AT THE INTERSECTION OF ATCHISON, TOPEKA AND SANTA FE RAILROAD AND ALAMEDA AVENUE IN THE CITY OF AZUSA. WHEREAS, the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Co. and the City of Azusa have entered into a contract for the erection of crossing protection at Crossing No. 2-116.8 at the intersection of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad and Alameda Avenue in the City of Azusa; and WHEREAS, the legislature of the State of California has created a crossing protection fund for the assistance of local agencies in the construction of crossing protections to be administered by the Public Utilities Commission; and WHEREAS, the Public Utilities Commission, by its order in Public Utility Commission Case No. 5495, has prescribed that certain information and exhibits be set forth in requests for crossing protection funds, including a resolution from the legislative body of the local agency authorizing the submission of a request for said funds. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Azusa that a request in conformity with the procedure contained in the order in Public Utility Com- mission Case No. 5495 be submitted to the Public Utilities Commission, requesting funds from the Crossing Protection Fund for the protection of Crossing No.2-116.8 at the Intersection of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad and Alameda Avenue in the City of Azusa. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Engineering Department of the City of Azusa shall take all necessary steps to prepare and submit such request to the Public Utilities Commission. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute said request for crossing protection funds and to verify said request as prescribed in Appendix A of said order in Public Utility Commission Case No. 5495. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. Approved and adopted this 20thday of October , 19-66—.
