A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 4693 BY CHANGING
THE CLASSIFICATION SCHEDULE FOR APPRENTICE LINEMAN.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as
follows:
SECTION 1. The classification schedules attached to
Resolution No. 4693, adopted July 20, 1964, as amended, are hereby
amended by substituting the classification schedule for Apprentice
Lineman which is attached hereto and make a part hereof, in place
and stead of the classification schedule for Apprentice Lineman as
now attached to said resolution.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.

adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 19th day of September , 1966, by
the following vote of the Council:

APPRENTICE LINEMAN
Job Summary:
Under immediate supervision, to assist in constructing, maintain-
ing and repairing overhead and underground electrical systems and
equipment, receiving increasing instruction and experience in
learning the lineman trade; to perform related work as required.
Representative Duties:
Assists in loading, transporting and setting poles and anchors;
prepares crossarms'and guys, and assists in installing them.
Climbs poles in clearing primary line.or secondary line trouble.
Connects and disconnects light services, shoots trouble on light
and power circuits; answers trouble calls, clears short circuits
and makes repairs to same if on City lines. Makes repairs on
street lights which have been damaged. Assists in performing
maintenance and construction work requiring the handling, splic-
ing, and connecting of energized high-voltage wires under direct
supervision. Fuses transformers. Installs cutouts, ground rods,
pole grounds, meters and service wires.
Organizational Relationships:
This class differs from lineman in that it'involaes lear=Lug.the
lineman trade and working on lines carrying not over 750 volts
except when working closely with a lineman. Contacts with the
Public may be numerous while employee is performing trouble-
shooting work. Certain phases of this work are performed inde-
pendently, subject however, to check and inspection on completion.
This, being an apprentice type of position, will require a minimum
of two years of progressively satisfactory work in order to event-
ually be eligible to take a lineman examination.
