RESOLUTION NO. 5186
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
ESTABLISHING A COMMITTEE ON AGING, DEFINING ITS
RESPONSIBILITIES, POWERS AND DUTIES AND PROVIDING FOR
THE FINANCING THEREOF
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows:
Section I. There is hereby created and established a committee to be known as
the "Azusa Committee on Aging, " consisting of such number of members as may be appointed
by the Mayor and such additional members as the by-laws adopted by the Committee may
authorize.
Section 2. Said Committee shall have the responsibility, power and duty to investigate
and report annually, or on such more frequent occasions as the Committee may desire, to the City
Council upon the following matters and other matters generally related thereto:
1. The number of aged or aging persons within the City of Azusa;
2. Their general condition and needs, both economic, social and material;
3. Presently available recreational facilities available to them and
recreational facilities which should be made available to them;
4. Presently available library facilities available to them and library
facilities which should be made available to them;
5. Presently available park facilities available to them and park
facilities which should be made available to them;
6. Any other matters which may be within the power and scope of the
City government.
In addition, the Committee may act as a coordinating and corresponding agency with
any and all other organizations which may be concerned with the problems of the aging or their
solution.
Section 3. The City shall be authorized to expend for or on behalf of the expenses of
said Committee a sum not to exceed One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per year, plus such additional
expenses as may be specifically authorized by the City Council from time to time.
Section 4. Said Committee shall be authorized to fix its own meeting dates, select
its own officers and adopt rules and by-laws for the conduct of its own proceedings.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and shall
transmit a certified copy thereof to the chairman of said Committee.

City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof held on the 20th day of February,
1967, by the following vote of the Council:
