HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - October 1, 1934 - CC,CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. OCTOBER 12 1934. The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Arnold, Chester, Morden, City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Councilmen: Malone and Meier. The minutes of the last regular meeting of September 17, 1934 were read and ' approved as read. Cornelius Smith addressed the City Council requesting permission to hang a banner across Foothill Boulevard advertising Hugh Thatchers? Campaign for re-election as a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman Arnold that this request be granted. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Malone and Meier. A request, to place a banner across the highway, offered by"The Legg for Supervisor Committee" was read. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman Arnold and duly carried that same be granted. MM 7:30 P.M. Cornelius Smith grant- ed permission to hang banner. Legg Committee granted permission to hang banner. A communication, signed by George N. Hale, expressing the appreciation of the Azusa Communication read City School Board for the cooperation given and filed. them by the City Council was read and ordered placed on file. A request for a vacation offered by C. E. Gauldin, was read. C. E. Gauldin granted - vacation with pay. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Chester that same be granted, with pay. Carried by the following vote of the Counc il: Ayes: Councilmen: Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Malone and Meier. Councilman Chester offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE 'CITY OF AZUSA IN THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECT- ING THE MAYOR OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE AND RESOLUTION NO. 1428 ENTER INTO IN BNHALF OF SAID CITY A CERTAIN ADOPTED, AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGEIE S RELATIVE TO THE PERFORMANCE BY THE COUNTY OF CERTAIN PUBLIC HEALTH FUNCTIONS IN SAID CITY AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO ATTEST THE SAME.
