HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 5222RESOLUTION NO. 5222 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 4693 BY CHANGING THE CLASSIFICATION SCHEDULE FOR FIRE CAPTAIN. The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. The classification schedules attached to Resolution No. 4693, adopted July 20, 1964, as amended, are hereby amended by substituting the classification schedule for Fire Captain which is attached hereto and make a part hereof, in place and stead of the classification schedule for Fire Captain as now attached to said resolution. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. 1967. Adopted and approved this 1st day of May , I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof held on the 1st day of May , 1967, by the following vote of the Council: AYES: Councilmen: Rubio, Cooney, Solem, McLees, Memmesheimer NOES: Councilmen: None ABSENT: Councilmen: None C y er c 0 FIRE CAPTAIN QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE Training and Experience E E-4 Minimum Requirements: Four years of experience at least 2 of which are at the Fire Engineer's level; or a minimum of 5 years continuous experience as a regular full time Fireman on a regular full time paid Fire'Depa_rtment. The training requirements for this position shall include the completion of 15 units of college training in fire fighting, fire science, and related fields. After appointment, an employee should be willing to continue to attend college level classes in fire fighting and related fields in off -hours in order to qualify and meet the requirements for advance- ment, Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of the principles and practices of fire prevention and suppression; knowledge of the use and maintenance of fire fighting equipment and apparatus; knowledge of departmental rules and regu- lations; knowledge of city geography, fire hazards and fire fighting resources, such as personnel, equipment, water supply and communica- tions; knowledge of first aid; ability to operate all types of fire fighting equipment and apparatus and to instruct others in such oper- ation; ability to lead and train men, plan, lay out, and direct their work, and to maintain effective discipline and morale; ability to keep records and prepare reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and the public; ability to perform duties requiring physical endurance and agility. License Possession of a valid motor.vehicle operatdr's license issued by the State of California; possession of an Advanced First Aid card issued by the American Red Cross. Rev 4-67
