HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 52200 0 RESOLUTION NO. 5220 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING ADDITIONAL AID FOR CERTAIN STREET IMPROVEMENTS FROM THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, Section 1680 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, authorized the Counties to extend aid to Cities for street improvements subject to certain provisions specified therein, and WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles has followed a policy of appropriating an amount for aid to cities out of the gasoline tax money received by the County from the State and of distributing this amount according to certain formula, and WHEREAS, the City of Azusa's unallocated balance in this fund is presently $59,499.83 more or less, and WHEREAS, the City of Azusa intends to complete the construction of 0.11 miles of Vincent Avenue and 0.10 miles of Gladstone Street, said construction to include curb and gutter, asphaltic concrete pavement, Portland Cement Concrete Pavement, base, cross gutters, drive approaches and traffic signals, said Vincent Avenue and Gladstone Street being desig- nated as Secondary Highways on the City of Azusa Master Plan of Highways and further desig- nated as Secondary Highways on the County's Master Highway Plan, both streets being desig- nated on the Select System of Streets and Highways as being eligible for gas tax expenditures, and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles has adopted a resolu- tion allocating $20,000.00 for said project, and WHEREAS, the scope of the project has been extended to include certain drainage structures requiring the expenditure of additional funds, and THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the City of Azusa hereby requests the County of Los Angeles through the office of the County Road Commissioner for a supplemental grant of $15,000.00 from the City's share of the aforementioned Aid to Cities Gas Fund to complete the work on the above-mentioned streets, subject to the provisions of the County Road Com- missioner and the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor shall sign this resolution and the City Clerk attest the same and certify to the passage and adoption thereof.
