HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 52100 RESOLUTION NO. 5210 11 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA URGING THAT THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AND THE BUREAU OF PUBLIC ROADS CONSIDER THE ADDITION OF ROUTE 243 IN THE INTERSTATE SYSTEM. WHEREAS, the National Institute of Defense Highway System involves 41,000 miles, of which some 2,000 miles are allotted to the State of California; and WHEREAS, there is some mileage yet to be allotted to complete the 41,000 miles system; and WHEREAS, the completion of construction on the Interstate Highway System is scheduled for 1973 under current funding; and WHEREAS, Route 243, a State Highway and Freeway, is a logical extension of Route 605 between Routes 10 and 210, all Inter- state Freeways; and WHEREAS, the State has designated Route 243 as part of their overheight 16 1/2 foot clearance connecting these Interstate Routes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the State of California and the Bureau of Public Roads consider the addition of Route 243 in the Interstate System. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this resolution be forwarded by the City Clerk to Senators Murphy and Kuchel, Congressmen Wiggins and Lipscomb, and all representatives of this City in the State Legislature. Approved and adopted this 3rd day of April, 1967.
