The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Malone, Arnold, Meier, Chester, Morden, City Attorney and City Clerk. The minutes of the last regular meeting of October 15, 1934 were read and approved as read. ' Communications from C. E. Gauldin and George Ott were read and ordered placed on file. Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman Chester that the sum of $324.68 be paid to the Gray Granite Company as the City of Azusa's share in the monument erected at Oakdale Cemetery in memory of the Veterans of the World War. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Malone, Arnold, Meier, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None Councilman Meier offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIF- ORNIA, EMPLOYING PAUL E. SMITH AS A REGULAR POLICE OFFICER. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Malone that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1429. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Malone, Arnold, Meier, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman Meier offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, ENGAGING THE LEGISLATIVE REPORTING AND INFORMATION SERVICE OF THE LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA MUNICIPALITIES DURING THE 1935 SESSION OF THE CALIFORNIA STATE LEGISLATURE AND ORDERING PAYMENT OF THE COST OF SUCH SERVICE. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Malone that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1430. A petition requesting the removal of pepper trees on Azusa Avenue between Second and Fourth Streets, was presented.
