The City Council of the City of Azusa
met in regular session at the above
time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen:
Malone, Arnold, Chester, City Attorney
and City Clerk. ,
Absent: Councilmen: Meier and Morden.
Moved by Councilmen Arnold, seconded by
Councilman Malone and duly carried that
Councilman Chester act as Mayor Pro tem
in the absence of Mayor Morden.
The minutes of the last regular meeting
of November 5, 1934 were read and approved
as read.
Letters of appreciation, from Canyon City
Post of the American Legion Number 180
and the American Legion Auxilary, were
read ,and ordered placed on file.
The monthly report of the Los Angeles
County Health Department was presented
and ordered placed on file.
Mrs. Bowing offered a reguest to open a
Rest Home at #1046 San Gabriel Avenue.
Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by
Councilman Arnold that same be referred
to the City Attorney.
Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by
Councilman Malone that the Street Super-
intendent be instructed to proceed with
the work of widening crossings at grade,
on Alameda, Dalton and Soldano Avenues
at the earliest possible time. Decision
of Railroad Commission Number 27482,
dated October 29, 1934.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Malone,.Arnold ,
Chester.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilmen: Meier and Morden.
Three informal bids on batteries to re-
place the battery on fire truck were offered
Moved•by Councilman Malone, seconded by
Councilman Arnold that the bids be referred
to the Purchasing Committee, with power to
act.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Malone, Arnold,
Chester.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilmen: Meier and Morden.

Bids on batteries re-
ferred to the Purchasing
Committee.
Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by
Councilman Arnold that the City Clerk be
instructed to notify the City Planning
Commission that a petition has been filed
with the Council requesting permission to
remove trees growing in the parkway on
Azusa Avenue between Second and Fourth
Streets, and that the City Council requests
the Planning Commission to consider said
petition for approval or disapproval and
to make such suggestions and recommendations
to the Council as it may deem proper.
Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by
Councilman Malone that the Street Super-
intendent be instructed to proceed with

Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by City Clerk authorized to
Councilman Malone that a warrant be drawn draw warrant for $17.00
in favor of Dr. J. H. Brooks in the amount in favor of Dr. J. H.
of $17.00 for items listed as follows: Brooks.
