HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 5473RESOLUTION NO. 5473 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRI- TORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "EASTERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 70". The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939., proceedings have been initiated by the City Council of the City of Azusa to annex to the City of Azusa all that uninhabited territory situate in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, hereby designated as "Easterly Annexation District No. 70" and described as follows: That portion of the Rancho Azusa de Dalton, in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, bounded by the following described lines: Beginning at the intersection of the westerly line of Citrus Avenue, as described in deed to the County of Los Angeles recorded as Document No. 988, on November 25, 1930, in Book 10388, Page 381, of Official Records in the office of the Recorder of said County, with the most southerly line of the parcel of land as described in deed to the State of California recorded as Docu- ment No. 1261, on February 10, 1956, in Book -D7, Page 794, of said Official Records; thence North 00 05' 45" East 328.34 feet along said westerly line and its northerly prolongation; thence North 890 54, 15" West 659.76 feet along a line perpendicular to said northerly prolongation of the westerly line of Citrus Avenue to a point in the northeasterly line of Alosta Avenue, 80 feet wide, as described in deed to the State of Califor- nia, recorded as Document No. 872, on June 29, 1933, in Book 1220, Page 230, of said Official Records; thence South 26 201 15" West 80.00 feet to a point in the southwesterly line of said Alosta Avenue; thence south- easterly along said southwesterly line, on a curve con- cave to the northeast, having a radius of 2290.00 feet, to the westerly line of the parcel of land as described in said deed recorded in Book D7 Page 794, of said, Official Records; thence southerly, southeasterly and easterly along the westerly, southwesterly and southerly lines of said last mentioned parcel of land to the point of beginning. SECTION 2. That the City Council of the City of Azusa desires to annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Azusa for the following reasons: The territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa, is uninhabited, and its proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City and the territory proposed to be annexed. SECTION 3. That a petition requesting annexation of said uninhabited territory signed by owners of all the land therein has been filed with the City. SECTION 4. That the Local Agency Formation Commission of Los Angeles County, California did in session duly assembled on September 25, 1966, approve the proposed annexation as sub- mitted to said Commission by the City Council of the City of Azusa with certain revisions reflected herein. SECTION 5. That Monday, October 21, 1968, at the hour of 8:00 p.m., in the Council Chamber in the Azusa Auditorium located in the Civic Center at 213 East Foothill Boulevard in the City of Azusa, County of Los Angeles, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where the City Council will hear protests made by any person owning real property within the City of Azusa who does not also own real property in the uninhabi- ted territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Azusa. SECTION 6. The City Clerk of the City of Azusa is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be.published at least once in the Azusa Herald, a newspaper of general circulation published'in said City of Azusa, the City to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, said publi- cation to be complete at least four days prior to the date set for hearing. SECTION 7. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto, in the manner required by law. SECTION 8. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. Adopted and approved this 7th day of October , 1968. i..
