A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA APPROVING AND AGREEING TO CERTAIN
CHANGES IN THE AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING THE
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as
follows:
WHEREAS, the Southern California Association of Govern-
ments was established by agreement entered into by City and County
governments within the Southern California area pursuant to the
provisions of the Joint Exercise of Powers Act (Government Code
Sections 6500 et seq.); and
WHEREAS, in order to conform to the requirements of
Chapter 972 of the Statutes of the 1968 Regular Session of the
California Legislature, which amended the Joint Exercise of Powers
Act, certain changes in the agreement establishing the Southern
California Association of Governments are necessary and desirable;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa
does hereby approve and agree that Section 7 of the Southern
California Association of Governments Agreement, to which this
City is a party, shall be amended to read as follows:
"7. Powers of Association. The Association shall have
the power, in its own name, to make and enter into contracts, to
employ agents and employees, to acquire, hold and dispose of prop-
erty, real and personal, to sue and be sued in its own name, and
to incur debts, liabilities or obligations necessary for the
accomplishment of the purposes of this agreement. However, the
debts, liabilities and obligations of the Association shall not
constitute any debt, liability or obligation of any of the public
agencies who are parties to this agreement.
"The Treasury of the County of Los Angeles shall be the
depositary of the funds of the Association and the Treasurer of the
County of Los Angeles shall be the ex officio treasurer of the
Association . The Auditor -Controller of the County of Los Angeles
shall be the disbursing officer of the Association and shall draw
warrants against the funds of the Association in the treasury when
the demands are approved by the President, Vice -President, or
Secretary -Treasurer of the Association, or such other persons as
may be specifically designated for that purpose in the By Laws."
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the foregoing amendment to
Section 7 of the Southern California Association of Governments
Agreement shall be effective when the amendment is approved and
agreed to by resolution or other appropriate action of the legis-
lative bodies of all of the parties to the Southern California
Association of Governments Agreement.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution and shall transmit a certified copy thereof to the
Executive Director of the Southern California Association of
Governments.
Adopted and approved this 16th day of September, 1968.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 16th day of September, 1968, by the following
vote of the Council.
