A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA AMENDING RESOLUTION N0, 4693 BY
CHANGING THE CLASSIFICATION SCHEDULES FOR
EDP KEYPUNCH OPERATOR AND AMENDING ELIMIT "A"
ATTACHED THERETO.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does
ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. The classification schedules
attached to Resolution No. 4693; adopted July 20, 1964,
as amended, are hereby amended by substituting the
classification schedule for EDP Keypunch Operator, which
Is attached hereto and made a part hereof in place and
stead of the classification schedule for EDP Keypunch
Operator as now attached to said Resolution.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to
the adoption of this resolution.
ADOPTED and approved this 7th day of April ,
1969.

EDP KEY PUNCH OPERATOR
Job Summary
A-6
Under supervision, operates and adjusts key punch machines.
Works primarily in the area of keypunching and miscellaneous
clerical work; assists EDP Equipment Operator in the operation
of equipment such as sorters, interpreters, bursters.
Representative Duties
Primarily operates key punch with ability to produce 10,000 to
12,500 strokes per hour. Assis•ts,EDP Equipment Operator in the
operation of the mechanical equipment related to the computer
system. Follows written procedures and descriptions set forth
in systems description manuals. 'Reports the need for major and
minor repairs; compiles computer output for files and distribu-
tion; meets required schedules and deadlines. Works cooperative-
ly with others.
Organizational Relationships
The EDP Key Punch Operator assists the EDP Equipment Operator
in the operation of the peripheral mechanical machines of the
data processing system and does necessary clerical work for
the production and distribution of a wide variety of reports
and other output necessary to the proper functioning of the
EDP system.

QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE `
Training and Experience
Graduation from high school, or equivalent, including
completion of a recognized course:,in.keypunch operation'.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of the.operation of various tabulating equipment,
punches; sorters, bursters, and interpreters; ability to
compare names and numbers rapidly and accurately. Ability
to perform a wide variety of.assignments "assisting the.'.
technical and professional staff of an Electronic DaEd'
Processing operation in the performance of -their duties;
ability to initiate and follow through on duties related
to the job; ability to.establish and maintain effective
working relationships WlYh supervisors and fellow employees.
