HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 5544I 0 No. 5544 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 4693 BY CHANGING THE CLASSIFICATION SCHEDULES FOR POLICEWOMAN AND AMENDING EXHIBIT "A" ATTACHED THERETO. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: . SECTION 1. The classification schedules attached to Resolution No. 4693, adopted July 20, 1964, as amended, are hereby amended by substituting the classification schedule for Policewoman, which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, in place and stead of the classification schedule for Policewoman as now attached to said Resolution. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. ADOPTED and approved this 3rd day of March , 19690 r ayor I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd day of March , 1969, by the following vote of the Dune AYES: Councilmen: Rubio, Decker, Cooney, Calvert, Solem NOES: Councilmen': None ABSENT: Councilmen: None 11 ,A l /�� 1 • I-6 POLICEWOMAN Job Summary Under direction, teals with specialized crime prevention work and law enforcement involving offenses by or against women and youth,, carries out special assignments in the protection of life and property; and does related work as re- quired. Representative Duties Investigates cases involving women and youth; conducts follow-up investigations of homes of -neglected youth, missing persons and, others in which domestic problems have been brought to the attention of the police; talks with parents, school officials, members of social agencies and others concerned with, control of delinquency and crime prevention; makes inspections of theaters, restaurants and other gathering places of youth and women; searches, inspects, transports and has custody,of female prisoners; maintains records of cases and prepares records of cases and reports of work performed; performs other work as required. Organizational Relationship An employee in this class is the youth officer for the Police Department and reports to the Police Ser- geant, Services Division. POL i CE -10MAN QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE Training and Experience 0 t-6 Minimum Requirements; High school graduation OR G.E.D. Certificate reflecting an average score of 45 with no score less than 35. After appointment, an employee should be willing to attend college level classes in police science and related fields during off -hours in order to qualify and meet the require- ments for advancement. Knowledge and Abilities A high degree of general intelligence, verbal facility, memory and adaptability are required. Ability to understand deoartmental policies, rules, instructions, laws, regulations and police literature, together with an aptitude for law enforcement work; ability to analyze situations and adopt a quick, effective and rea- sonable course of action; ability to write clear and accurate reports; ability to use good English and a good vocabulary; ability to understand and follow oral directions; keen obser- vation and ability to remember names, faces, and details of incidents; ability to gain the confidence of and maintain sympathetic working relationships with other employees, civic and welfare groups and the general public. License Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license from the State of California. Rev. 2/69
