HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 5660• RESOLUTION N0, 5660 • A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE,PERMIT (Sierra Screw Products C-92) The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. The Planning Commission of the City of Azusa did heretofore grant a Conditional Use Permit to Sierra Screw Products with respect to certain real propertherein- after described as set forth in its Resolution No. LO adopted October 22, 1969, which Resolution had certain conditions attached thereto. SECTION 2. Sierra Screw Products has duly appealed the decision of the Planning Commission with respect to Con- dition No. 15 attached to said Resolution No. 820, SECTION 3. The real property which is the subject matter of said Conditional Use Permit is commonly known as 1000 West Sierra Madre Avenue and legally described as: that portion No. 2, Azusa in Miscellan Maps, in the County of Lo described as of Lots 41 and 56 of Subdivision Land & Water Company, as recorded eous Records Book 43, Page 94, of office of the County Recorder, s Angeles, State of California, follows: commencing at a point of beginning lying North 367.03 feet and East 388.91 feet, from the southwest corner of said Lot 41; thence S 890 501 42" E 722.53 feet; thence S81° 36' 57" E 755.73 feet; thence N 16° 271 45'! W 693.13 feet to the southerly line of the proposed westerly extension of Sierra Madre Avenue (100 feet wide), said southerly line being. on a curve concave to the North and having a radius of 1500 feet; thence westerly along said southerly line through a central angle of 270 35t 15' for an arc distance of 722.24 feet; thence continuing along said southerly line N 680 10t 43" W 359.07 feet to the begin- ning of the tangent curve, concave to the southwest and having a radius of 1650 feet; thence continuing along said southerly line, northwesterly through a central angle of 110 59' 02" for an arc distance of 345.11 feet; thence leaving said southerly line S 60 26' 17" E 885.48 feet to the point of beginning. 7_2�/, SECTION 4. The City Council having found and determined that facts exist as required in Section 9231.26 of the Azusa Municipal Code justifying granting of the Conditional Use Permit herein, and acting pursuant to its powers set forth in Section 9231.27, a Conditional Use Permit is hereby granted to Sierra ScrewiProducts allowing a helicopter landing pad, paint shop, non-ferrous foundry, screw machine shop, die casting facility for brass, aluminum and zinc, and light forging subject to the follow- ing conditions: u a. That the major furnaces used within the foundry be all -electric. b. File and record Parcel Map for the subject property. C. Provide street construction and dedication on Sierra Madre Avenue between Todd Avenue and Vernon Avenue according to the following schedule: (i) Construct street, curb and gutter on the south side between Todd Avenue and Vernon Avenue at the time of the initial property development. (ii) Enter into an agreement and provide a bond to the City of Azusa for the re- maining street improvements and median landscaping with a time limit for com- pletion being three months after the Beatty Canyon Outfall Storm Drain completion. d. Close off entrances for Eleventh Street across from both Todd and Vernon Avenues, replacing the drives with full height curb. e. Extend the sewer from an existing manhole on Todd Avenue immediately north of the proposed Tenth Street intersection. f. The developer is to make arrangements for ex- tensions of other utilities to serve the property. (A 12" water main is presently located through the property which is more than adequate to serve their utilities. The City of Azusa is planning on a pumping plant installation at the intersection of Vernon and Eleventh Street, which will further aug- ment the amount of water available from this line.) g. Existing utilities are to be protected in place or reconstructed to City of Azusa standards with new easements granted in the event the property owner requests a relocation of these utilities. h. Street trees to be provided by the developer along Sierra Madre Avenue at 50 foot centers per the Master List of Street Trees. i. That the M2 zoning for this property be approved. J. That the westerly and southerly boundaries be planted with an approved screening type of landscap- ing. k. Landscaping and precise plan of design be sub- ject to Planning Commission review and approval. 1. That all utilities be placed underground with easements To—be furnished,the City as required. M. Any exterior storage of materials is to be screened from public view. n. If the property is to be sold or leased to some- one other than the applicant, the City is to be no- tified 90 days prior to such intended action. SECTION 5. The permit hereby allowed is conditional upon the privileges being utilized within six (6) months after the effective date thereof, and if they are not utilized or construction work is not begun within said time•and carried on diligently in accordance with conditions imposed by the City Council this authorization shall become void, and any privilege, permit or variance granted hereby shall be deemed to have elapsed. SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. Adopted and approved this 15thday of December , 1969.
