The City Council of the City of Azusa
met in regular session at the above
time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen:
McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden,
City Attorney and City Clerk.
The minutes of the last regular meeting
of February 18, were read and approved as
read.
A communication from George N. Hale was
read and ordered placed on file.
A communication from Violet C. Gauldin,
relating to a gun case owned by the late
C. E. Gauldin, was read.
Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by
Councilman Chester that same be referred
to the City Attorney.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr,
Arnold, Chester, Morden.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Councilman Chester offered a Resolution
entitled:

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIF-
ORNIA, APPROVING PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT'S RESOLUTION NO. 1444
PROPOSAL OF PROVIDING FUNDS TO INAUGURATE ADOPTED.
A WORKS PROGRAM FOR THE RELIEF OF THE UN-
EMPLOYED.
Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by
Councilman McIntire that this Resolution
be adopted as read and numbered Resolution
No. 1444.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:

Arnold, Chester, Morden,
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Councilman Chester offered a Resolution
entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIF-
ORNIA, TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF FIVE THOUS- RESOLUTION NO. 1445
AND DOLLARS (5000.00) FROM THE LIGHT FUND ADOPTED.
TO THE GENERAL FUND.
Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by
Councilman Carr that this Resolution be
adopted as read and numbered Resolution
No. 1445.

Councilman Arnold offered an Ordinance
entitled:

Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by
Councilman Carr that the City Clerk be
instructed to authorize H. V. Owens to
renew Fire Insurance Policy on contents of
the Azusa -Public Library.

Arnold, Chester, Morden.

Chief of Police, S. C. Bierbower, reported
that he had made some changes in the police
department; placing Officer Smith on traffic
duty during the day and Officer Kimbrell
replacing Patrolman Lovelace on night duty.
He recommended that Officer Kimbrell's
salary be reduced to $125.00.per month to
conform with the salary paid for said
appointment.

RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT AND/OR EMPLOY- RESOLUTION NO. 1446
MENT OF C. C. KIMBRELL AS A -REGULAR POLICE ADOPTED.
OFFICER OF SAID CITY.
Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by
Councilman Arnold that this Resolution be
adopted as read and numbered Resolution
No. 1446.

Council:

Arnold, Chester, Morden.

Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by
Councilman McIntire that the Chief of
Police be instructed and authorized to
place street signs limiting traffic to
fifteen (15) miles per hour, at the inter-
section of Azusa Avenue and Eleventh
Streets.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr,
Arnold, Chester, Morden.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Mr. Fielder presented a petition with
approximately 250 names attached, re-
questing the City Council to fix the
for distributing bakery products at
$12.00 per annum instead of $120.00,
Chief of Police directed
to erect sign posts.
Mr. Fielder presented
fee petition. Same referred
to the City Council as
a Committee of the Whole.
Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by
Councilman Chester that this matter be
referred to the City Council as a Committee
of the Whole.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr,
Arnold, Chester, Morden.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Executive session.
Councilman Arnold that the Council adjourn
and enter executive session for fifteen
minutes.
At the end of said time the meeting was resumed.

Mayor Morden informed Mr. Sausedo that Mr. Sausedo's request
the City Council had denied his request to to open a pool hall

Councilman Carr that the following re-
quisitions be authorized.
1192-1193-1194-1196-1197-1198-1199 Requisitions authorized.

Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by
