RESOLUTION NO. 5608
'A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA AMENDING THE PERSONNEL RULES AND
REGULATIONS AS ADOPTED BY RESOLUTION NO. 3914
PERTAINING TO VACATIONS.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as
follows:
SECTION'l. After recommendation to the City Council
by the Personnel Board of the City of Azusa, Paragraph 1 of
Section 85 of the Personnel Rules and Regulations as adopted
by Resolution No. 3914, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Par. 1 Eleven (11) working days vacation leave with
pay shall be granted each employee who has been in the service
of the City of Azusa for one year or more, except for members of
the Fire Department and Police Department. Members of the Fire
Department shall receive as vacation and in lieu of municipal
holidays, leave of not less than 7 shifts per year totalling 168
hours, which shall .provide not less than 15 consecutive days
vacation in each year. Members of the Police Department shall
receive an annual vacation of not less than 15 consecutive days
which 15 consecutive days vacation shall consist of not more than
88 hours of paid time."
SECTION 2. After recommendation to the City Council by
the Personnel Board of the City of Azusa, Paragraph 2 of Section
85 of the Personnel Rules and Regulations as adopted by Resolution
No. 3914, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Par. 2 (1) Over 5 Years Service: An extra day of
vacation for each year of service over and above first five year
period of employment shall be given, except that no vacation shall
exceed twenty-one working days. An employee who has been laid off
for a period not in excess of three months during his five-year
period of service, should not lose the benefit. The extra day,
or days so given, may either be added to the annual.zvacation or
`-taken at some other time approved by the head of the department."
"Par. 2 (2) Maximum Vacation Pa U on Termination:
The maximum amount of compensation for ¢acation snali not be in
excess of forty-two (42) working days which shall be the accumulated
and earned leave. In cases of termination of employment, either
voluntary or involuntary, current reconcilation of vacation leave
earned and taken to date shall be made. If the employee owes the
City for unearned leave, the actual time shall be deducted from
final pay. Compensation for vacation leave earned but unused at
date of termination shall be added to final pay."
SECTION 3. After recommendation to the City Council by
the Personnel Board of the City of Azusa, Paragraph 3 of Section
85 of the Personnel Rules and Regulations as adopted by Resolution
No. 3914, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Par. 3 Accumulative: Earned vacation shall not be
accumulative in excess of eleven (11) working days except upon
recommendation of the department head and consent of the City Council.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.
Adopted and approved this 4 th day of August 1969.
