A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE CERTAIN
RIGHTS AND EASEMENTS.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as
follows:
WHEREAS, the City of Azusa is record owner, of an
easement for utility purposes over a strip of land 15 feet
in width, on private property between Vernon Avenue and
McKeever Avenue; and.
WHEREAS, said easement for utility purposes is
unnecessary for present or prospective public use and is
proposed to be vacated; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Azusa
has acted upon said proposed vacation by adoption of its Resolu-
tion No. 796 on April 23, 1969, approving vacation of said
easement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Azusa
hereby declares its intention to vacate all its right, title
and interest in and to that certain real property described
below pursuant to Title 5, Division 12 Part 1, Chapter 28 Article
5 of the Government Code of the State of California:
That portion of a certain public utilities easement,
15 feet wide, as recorded on October 3, 1946, in
Official Records, Book 23814, Page 83, as Document
Number 2218, in the Office of the County Recorder,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, described
as follows:
That portion of the above described easement bounded
on the West by the easterly line of Vernon Avenue
(65.00 feet wide) as it existed April 23, 1969 and
bounded on the East by the westerly line of Lots 12
and 13 of Tract Number 13791, as recorded in Map
Book 361, Pages 49 and 50, in the Office of said
County Recorder.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that 8:00 P.M. on June 2,
1969, in the Council Chamber of the City of Azusatlocated in
the Azusa Auditorium at 213 East Foothill Boulevard in Azusa,
California, is hereby fixed as the time and place for public
hearing on the proposed vacation at which time the City Council
shall hear all persons interested;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is directed
to publish notice of said hearing in the Azusa Herald and Pomo-
tropic, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City
of Azusa, County of Los Angeles, California, not less than once
each week for two successive weeks prior to the date of said
hearing;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of Public
Works is directed to post conspicuously along the easement des-
cribed above not less than three (3) notices of easement vacation,
which notices shall be posted not more than three hundred (300)
feet apart and shall state the time and place of said hearing
and the date of adoption of this resolution;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall
certify to the adoption of this resolution.
Adopted and approved this-th day of May .01969.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 5th day of May , 1969, by
the following vote of the Counncc :
AYES: Councilmen: Rubio, Decker, Cooney, Calvert, Solem
NOBS: Councilmen: None
