HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 5570RESOLUTION NO. 5570 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING RESOLUTION N0. 4693 RELATING TO THE TABLE OF ORGANIZATION, COMPENSATION AND CLASSIFICATION SCHEDULES OF THE LIGHT, POWER AND WATER DEPARTMENT AND AMENDING EXHIBIT "A" ATTACHED THERETO:. The City Council of'the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That portion of Exhibit A attached to Resolution No. 46930 adopted July 200 1964, as amended, relating to the Light, Power and Water Department, is hereby amended by the addition thereto of the following: "1 Water Foreman Range 27" SECTION 2. The classification schedules attached to Resolution No. 4693, adopted July 20, 1964, as amended, are hereby amended by adding thereto the classification schedule for Water Foreman, which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. Adopted and approved this 5th day of May , 1969. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof held on the 5th day of May , 1969s by the following vote of the Council: AYES: Councilmen: NCES: Councilmen: Rubio, Decker, Cooney, Calvert, Solem None ABSENT: Councilmen: None city cierK J-G- WATER FOREMAN Job Summary F-25 Under direction, supervises and participates in the work with the crews in the work of construction, maintenance and repairs of water system mains, installation of, and maintenance of services and equipment, and related work as required. Representative Duties Supervises and participates with the work crews engaged in the installation of water services, mains, meters and fire hydrants; does tapping, pipe fitting; operates light equipment and trucks; repairs broken water lines, water main valves and services; relocates meters, hydrants and services; changes and raises meters; installs plumbing; cuts pavement; sees that safe and proper work practices are followed by the members of the crew; maintenance of pump houses, reservoirs and surrounding grounds; maintains records of work performed, time and material records; may stand a regularly scheduled stand-by watch; acts for his supervisor in his absence or at his direction. Organizational Relationships Water Foreman is of the first level supervisory class found in the Water Division of the Light, Power and Water Department. An employee of this class, under direction supervises and participates in the work of the Water Maintenance Men, Welder, Welder's Helper and Pump Operator -Repairman. 0 MATER FOREMAN QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE Training and Experience 0 F-25 Minimum Requirements; Graduation from high school and two years of experience in water construction and maintenance work at a skilled level. Previous experience in a supervisory capacity or on Job training in a temporary supervisory position. Holder of a Grade IV Water Supply and Treatment certificate, or equivalent college level courses in Water.Supply and Applied Hydraulics, is desirable but not a necessary requirement. Two years of experience in the Azusa Water Department may be substi- tuted for one year of high school with a maximum of four years of high school credit. Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of water system mains, services, hydrants, meters, and valves;khowledge of concrete work, pipe laying and fitting and plumb- ing; the installation of water mains, ability to follow engineerds grade; ability to follow blue prints and engineering sketches; ability to supervise and work with the crews; ability to drive light equipment; skill in the use of pneumatic and power equipment; ability to follow written and oral directions; ability to maintain records. Skills Skill in cutting and threading pipe; skill in hot tapping; skill in light welding. License Possession of a valid Motor vehicle operator's license from the State of California.
