HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - April 1, 1935 - CC1159 CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. APRIL 10 1935. 7:30 P.M. The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Carr, McIntire, Arnold, Chester, Morden, City Attorney. Absent: City Clerk. The minutes of the last regular meeting of March 18, 1935 were read and approved as read. A communication from Winifred B. Hanes requesting the City Council's permission to remove four Camphor trees and replace them with Cocos Plumosis Palms, was read. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Councilman Arnold that same be granted. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Carr, McIntire, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. A communication from Vosburg Brothers, Inc. relating to thieving from the orchards on West First Street and requesting the cooper- ation of the Police Department during the Valencia Season, was read. This matter was referred to the Chief of Police by a unanimous vote. A communication from the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works regarding application for improvement of Water System Re: Docket No. 6401 Azusa, California Waterworks, stating that the application could not be recommended, was read. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Carr and duly carried that same be placed on file. A communication from Orville C. Smith & 'Company, Auditors, was read and ordered placed on file. Petitions signed by members of the Azusa Baptist Church, First Methodist Church and the Official Board of the Presbyterian Church were read. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Councilman McIntire that same be placed on file. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Carr, McIntire, Arnold, Chester, Morden. ' Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman McIntire that the following requisitions beallowed: 1202-1203-1206-1207-1208. Carried by'the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Carr, McIntire, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Carr that the following bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn upon the Treasury for the same. Minutes. Mrs. Hanes granted permission to remove Camphor trees. Vosburg Brothers request for protection from orchard thieves referred to the Chief of Police. Communication read and ordered placed on file.
