HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - June 3, 1935 - CC1 s CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. JUNE 3, 1935. The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Mayor Morden. The minutes of the last regular meeting of May 20, 1935 were read and approved as read.. A request, made.by Mrs. -R. M. De Puy, for the -removal of.a'pepper tree, was read. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman McIntire that same be referred to the Azusa City Planning Commission for recommendation. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester. Noes: None. Absent: Mayor Morden. Communications from the State Compensation Insurance Fund and the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce were read and ordered placed on file. AIV.application, for the position of Life Guard at the Slauson Memorial Plunge, was presented by Pat Pollard. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Carr that sane be placed on file. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mclntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester. Noes: None. Absent: Mayor Morden. The written report of the Azusa City Planning Commission relative to the erection of a fertilizer plant in Tract 8507 also the erect- ion of a sales booth on Foothill Boulevard, was read and ordered placed on file. The matter of constructing the proper drain- age for storm waters on Crescent Drive was discussed. Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by Councilman Carr and duly carried that same be referred to the Board of Public works for investigation. Mr. Muehe addressed the City Council regarding the under pass on Foothill Boulevard at the Santa Fe Crossing. Mr. Pinkstaff requested permission to hang a sign advertising the Townsend Club at 636 Azusa Avenue. 185 7:30 P.M. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman McIntire that permission to hang this "sign be granted upon approval of the Building Inspector and subject to removal at any time upon direction of the City Council. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester. Noes: None. Absent: Mayor Morden. Roll call. Minutes approved. Mrs. De Puy's request referred to the City Planning Commission. Communications read and ordered placed on file. Application ordered placed on file. Report of the City Planning Commission ordered placed on file. Drainage for storm waters referred to the Board of Public Works. Mr. Muehe addressed the City Council.
