HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 58420 0 RESOLUTION NO. 5842 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 4693 RELATING TO THE TABLE OF ORGANIZATION AND COMPENSATION IN THE SEVERAL DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY. The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. The Table of Organization for the Parks and Recreation Department, as set forth in Exhibit A attached to Resolution No. 4693, is hereby amended by the deletion of the classification of Maintenance Man 1 and the addition of the following classes: "Park Maintenance Man 1 - Salary Range 110.5 Park Maintenance Man 11 - Salary Range 112.0 Park Maintenance Man 111 - Salary Range 113.5" The class specifications for each of said classifications are attached hereto marked Exhibit 1 and by this reference incorpo- rated herein. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. Representative Duties Operates light maintenance equipment; assists in pipe fitting; prunes trees;and shrubs; puts,.in sub -grades; digs,. and refills trenches; hoes, weeds, sweeps, rakes leaves; waters lawns and landscaped areas; uses power,tools in cutting lawns and trim- ming hedges; fertilizes, prepares soils, and plants landscaped areas; performs maintenance and custodial duties in maintaining park structures, restrooms, and recreational facilities. Organizational Responsibilities This is the basic maintenance worker and laborer class in the Park and Recreation Department. An employee in this class is responsible to a Leadman in charge of a small crew of Park Maintenance Men. E-6 PARK MAINTENANCE MAN I QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE Training and Experience ' Completion of the eighth grade; and'one year of experience In gardening, maintenance, or general repair work. Knowledge and Abilities 'Some knowledge of the common tools and materials used in parks maintenance;' of the basic operation of 'gasoline motors; of -lawn maintenance; knowledge of simple arithmetic. Ability: to'operate trucks and motorized equipment; to understand and follow oral and written directions; to work effectively in a small group; to get along well with the public; physical strength and agility. Licenses A valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License. I 0 0 E-7 PARK MAINTENANCE MAN II Job Summary Under supervision, performs.a variety of Simi -skilled maintenance and landscaping tasks in the Park and. Recreation Department. Representative Duties Operates trucks'and other maintenance equipment; per- forms tree trimming from,aerial ladders and boom; feeds trimmings into automatic chipper; mixes chemicals and sprays trees or plants; prunes trees and shrubs; digs and refills trenches; hoes, weeds, sweeps, rakes leaves, and waters lawns and landscaped areas; uses power tools In cutting lawns and trimming shrubs and hedges; fertil- izes, prepares soils and plants landscaped areas; performs maintenance and custodial duties in maintaining park structures, restrooms and recreational facilities. Assists in maintenance of sprinkler and watering systems. Performs any other related duties. Organizational Responsibilities This is the basic semi -skilled worker in the Park and Recreation Department. An employee in this class is responsible to a Leadman assigned to a crew of Park and Recreation Maintenance Men. 0 6 E-7 PARK MAINTENANCE MAN II QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE Training and Experience Completion of the tenth'grade and two years -'of experience in park maintenance and repair woek. Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge,of a variety of simi-skilled jobs in the cons- truction and maintenance of parks;'mechanical ability and comprehension; ability to work effectively.in a small group or alone, and withou continuous supervi.sion. Ability to use hand and power tools; to follow oral and written instructions., Ability to properly maintain tools and mechanized equipment and perform heavy manual labor. •Knowledge of the safety precautions necessary in working In traffic with hand tools and motorized equipment. Licenses A valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License. a Ll PARK MAINTENANCE MAN 111 Job Summary LJ W Under supervision, performs skilled maintenance and land- scaping tasks in the Park and Recreation Department., Representative Duties Operates trucks and other maintenance equipment such as a skip loader,tractor, aerial ladder and boan;'performs minor maintenance work on motorized equipment; maintains sprinklers, watering systems, 'timers and related park equipment; makes a simple electrical connections. Performs other related duties. Organizational Responsibilities This is'the skilled worker in the Park and Recreation De- partment. An employee in this class reports to a Leadman who supervises a crew performing the more skilled tasks in the Park and Recreation Department. PARK MAINTENANCE P1AN.111, . . QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE Training and Experience Completion of high school, or�equivalent,'and -two-years experience in park maintenance, performing the more skilled tasks required in park maintenance activities. Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of the tools, equipment and„mater,ials used in park maintenance; -.knowledge of the basic operation of gasoline motors; knowledge of park landscaping prin ciples. Ability, to operatre'equipment used.in park maintenance and/or construction.:. ; Licenses A,valid;California Motor.Vehicle Operator's License.
