HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 5825RESOLUTION NO. 5825 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING RESOLUTION N0. 4693, AS AMENDED BY RESOLUTION NO. 5750, RELATING TO THE TABLE OF ORGANIZATION AND COMPENSATION IN THE SEVERAL DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY. The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. The table of organization for the Light and Power Department, as set forth in Exhibit A attached to Resolution No. 5750, is hereby amended by the addition thereto of the classification of Working Lineman Foreman, one position at Salary Range 122.5, the class specifications of which are attached hereto marked Exhibit 1 and, by this reference, incorporated herein. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance. Representative Duties Acts as sub -foreman or leadman in supervising a small crew detached to perform specific smaller jobs in the construction and repairing of electrical distribution system lines and extensions; as a working member of the crew, climbs poles and performs other skilled electri- cal repair and maintenance duties; works with the crew in making new service connections, in constructing new sub -stations and transformer banks; hangs transformers; tests lines, directs the installation of poles; keeps records of time and material used and the results of all work done; reports activities; responds to any emergency breaks in service and restores service; may stand a regular scheduled standby watch. Organizational Responsibilities A Working Lineman Foreman is a part-time supervisory class at the lead level found in the Electric Utility Division. This employee reports to either the Electric Foreman or the Superintendent of Light and Power, and Is responsible for performing journeyman Lineman and/or lead super- vision duties, depending upgn the needs of the Division. Standy duty may be required and assigned. QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE Training and Experience Permant status with one year of service as a Lineman with the City of Azusa. Knowledge and Abilities Good journeyman knowledge of: the materials, methods, equipment, tools, used in constructing, repairing and maintaining overhead electrical lines, extensions, services, and meters; the regulations of the California Public Utility Commission covering construction and maintenance of overhead and underground transmission lines; the safety precautions of the trade; the installation and maintenance of current, potential, and phase shifting transformers, street light circuits and equipment, and pumping equipment panels, controls, and motors. Ability to: make electrical system installations and repairs; climb poles and make electrical repairs; make tests and hang transformers; read sket- ches and blueprints; plan and direct the work of a small crew; understand and carry out written and oral directions. Personal Qualities Willingness to climb poles and work above the ground; physical fitness; willingness to follow proper safety precautions. Licenses A valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License
